In 2161, when the Vault Dweller wiped out the Khans, were there two separate groups of survivors (The New Khans set up by Darion and the Great Khans) ? Is there any information about the Great Khans starting from their beginning back in 2161 up until the Bitter Springs Massacre? Did they go straight from their original camp to Bitter Springs?

I ask, because I'm rolling a character with a Great Khan background and realized that I don't know much about them prior to Bitter Springs. I wish there was more back story on Papa Khan (when exactly he took leadership and who led before him)

EDIT: Ah, stupid me. Didn't pay enough attention to OP. No, there's no info on how the Great Khans came to be. I think it's just a branch of New Khans who didn't agree with some of the things New Khans did and left the group to form their own Khan group That or they are just reformed New Khans. You gotta ask the devs.

I'm guessing Papa Khan was part of the New Khans.

The Original khans had a survivor in the ending side.

Actually I read (or atleast think I read) something saying the New Khans were also massacred and the few survivors headed east to form the Great Khans... I'd check the Vault if I were you

Yea, I had already read up all the info I could at the Wiki. From what I read, I couldn't tell if the Great Khans branched off from the New Khans (didn't the Chosen One wipe out all the New Khans?), or if the Great Khans had started after the original Khans were taken out (that's considering that Darion may not have been the only survivor?) So either the Great Khans ended up in Bitter Springs sometime after 2161 or 2242 (considering which would be canon, which all depends on the developers I suppose)

Another reason why I'm really trying to figure this out is because I was wanting to write a fan-fiction based around a Khan who was born in 2227 and left the tribe around 2250 to become NCR.

I really hope that future DLC expands on the Great Khans. They are a really interesting faction and I would love to see them gain more influence in the Mojave.

I miss the old khans (the original ones). The New Khans were too vicious and the Great Khans are too much like a family. Although, in my opinion Khans>New Khans>Great Khans.
