Newbie - BSA Commander

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:09 am

Hi,

I want to create weapons and armor using the pre-existing meshes/textures in-game. I know that I have to use BSA Commander to extract the BSA files, but which files do I extract so I can use NIF files and add weapon icons to the items I make? Any replies would be appreciated.

You would have to extract the Meshes and Textures BSAs. The Meshes BSA holds the NIFs and the Textures BSA holds the textures and weapon icons. DO NOT extract them into your Oblivion\Data folder, as your load time in game will increase drastically (I learned this the hard way). Copy the BSAs to a separate folder and extract them there. Once you get the textures looking the way you want, save them into your Data folder. Then use NifSkope to assign the textures to the desired NIF and save that into your Data folder as well.
