Which Fanfic would you rather see?

Hey everyone, I have two different fanfics here, and I'd like to choose one to continue on. Both have an intro, so I'll post them below and you can vote on which one sounds better! Here you go, any criticism is welcome and greatly appreciated!

Fanfic 1:
The New Mojave Republic
As the flashing lights of New Vegas shone through the balcony window, they illuminated Jordan’s face. He thought about the past a lot at night, and tonight was no different. Topics varied form night to night, but every time, there was one constant: Hoover Dam. Jordan had done what he thought was right; he had helped the NCR beat the Legion back. He had done what any concerned person would do: protected the innocent. Now he wasn’t sure if he had made the right choice or not. The NCR had done a good job so far, but life was getting harder. Taxes and marshal law took their toll on people, and there was unrest for the first time since the Legion was pushed back. The populace was unhappy, and it showed. Robberies and theft were more common, and people were even starting to torch military bases. The crime rate had skyrocketed, and the NCR was coming down hard on everyone for it. The taxes had been doubled, and then tripled. Patrols and guardhouses where all too common now, and you couldn’t breathe without the NCR documenting it. It was time for change. That much was obvious. And Jordan was just the person for it.
Plot: Jordan will open the Lucky 38 to the general public, then fund the building/recruiting of a personal army to take back the Mojave from NCR.

Fanfic 2:
Settled
The gleaming lights of the fort shown brightly into the miles of deserted wasteland around it. There were many small settlements in the Mojave, but this one was different. No one had gone near it for years, and the only citizens had lived there for as long as anyone could remember. A group had tried to go near the town about 3 months ago, but they were blown up in a minefield of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), and shot to death by turrets that sprang from the ground, only to disappear once again after their dirty work was done. The outsiders didn't know much about the city, but they knew enough not to go near it. Whoever-- whatever-- was in that fort, it was trouble.
Plot: A strange fort in the middle of the wasteland is protected by a minefield of IEDs, booby traps, and a complex turret system. The expanding Legion forces soon discover the fort, and send an invasion force. The NCR also sends a force to help defend the town, and to put it under NCR control. But the town has other plans.

I personally think the second one sounds better mate. The first just sounds like another "What the courier did next" stories, and there are already dozens of those on the boards already. The second looks much more origional.

I agree with Kettle. The second story allows you to be much more flexible, simply because it's your own creation. You have the room to utilise your imagination, whereas in the Mojave Republic, you're more binded by canon.

Either way, good luck!

Yeah, the second one for sure. Based off the intro's however, I can see you doing good with both.
