Reading up on the Swordsingers, their is mention of their weapons being woven with the magic and power from the unknown Gods of War.

My question is simple, and will probably disappoint anyone used to meta-physical mumbo jumbo and big words.

Can swordsinger forged weapons kill ghosts or undead?

Now in the games, any weapon superior to silver affected undead (ghosts) and Daedra. In Morrowind this was the case, Oblivion I recall it to be as well, although I have no copy of the game at the moment.

I just figured that the greatest swordsmen on the planet who dedicate their lives to swordsmanship and forging swords that their blades would be above natural make.

I sometimes hate to reply to topics about things I haven't INTENSELY read about, but I'll do it anyway lol.

If it ain't magical or refined material, then I doubt that it could hurt ghosts or undead, regardless of who it was forged by.

Since they are "woven with magic" i guess you could say they are enchanted.
And since they are created to be beatifull i guess some of them DO contain silver that also creates the effect.

I could create beauty from carved wood and cow crap. No offense, but material doesn't automatically create beauty.

In Oblivion, only silver, deadric, and enchanted weapons can hurt a ghost, or the unicorn for that matter. I have tryed to fight off the unicorn with a ebony sword and failed horribly. As for Morrowind, I'm not so sure.

Oh? I would have figured ebony would be able to because of the fact that it was gods blood.



Well it does state they are woven with magic.

Guess they changed it for TES IV; in Morrowind, ebony is considered "refined."

On this page of UESP, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Weapons, it shows that only silver and daedric weapons affect ghosts in Oblivion. Yet there are weapons like the sharpened cutlass, and the black bow that affect ghosts. For Oblivion. (Although its the opposite in Morrowind, once passed silver, all normal weapon resistance was ignored)
