There seems to be a lot of conviction that the 720 will release in the next one or two years, as well as a Microsoft statement leading to much the same inclination, and may coincide with the holiday period that Skyrim is released. While I'm pretty sure it won't be so soon I'm certain its coming. I personally don't own a 360 and I'm happy with my PC, but if there's any possibility that a later revision of Skyrim will be released for the 720 I might be tempted to wait it out and buy it. Anyone else have any news? Discuss...

I don't see a need for a 720, other than BluRay seriously the current Xbox is fine, it is updateable so it will never be dated.

i voted 2015, but i honestly think it will be a lot longer than that... xbox 360 is doing great, they just released kinect, releasing a new console in the near future would be [censored], and i would be pissed.... but i really don't think they could improve much on the 360, so it would be hard to make a 720

Well i just bought a new 360 slim and ain`t got any intention of buying the dubious sounding 720 or whatever it may be called upon release..

The XBox's (and other consoles) tech is over 5 years old. That's significantly dated in comparison to a 2011 PC. You can't update the hardware in a 360, so it will be always running ancient tech.

I voted a 2013 release, but I see it more like that it will be announced in 2013 than actually released.

The next generation of consoles had better be on par with the top-of-the-line PC's of 2014 or 2015, just so they don't keep holding PC's back for years afterwards.

And no, I will not buy Skyrim for a console. Never again will I buy a TES game for a console. To me, they are PC games and the consoles lack the ability to mod - thus vastly reducing the playtime of a game.

Seems premature to speculate on a game not yet released and a next gen console that is probably years away.
