What's Wrong With My Set-up Here?

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 1:27 pm

So I haven't used the GECK in a while (school and whatnot) so I've been trying a few things to see how rusty I am. I wanted to mix and match weapons and ammo, nothing fancy. In this case a 10mm pistol that uses flamer ammo. Of course, I don't just want to literally use up my ammo, I want a jet of fire to come out of the gun too. I mostly just matched all the settings to the Flamer itself insofar as game data / art and sound, but when I use the gun in-game (by using player.additem [base_ID] 1 100 in console command) it doesn't fire. At all. When I click, nothing happens, not a sound, no animation, and certainly no massive jets of fire.

So here's the properties for the weapon, see if you can decipher what's going on here for me. All help is loved, thanks!

Well, you have 2 options:

1. Open WeapFlamer and change the Model of the weapon to 10mm Pistol and adjust reload and attack animations.
2. Open Weap10mmPistol and change the Projectile to FlameProjectile. (If you change the weapon to Auto it will be bugged)

1st option is better and it has less number of bugs.

I'm trying it now, but as I think about it I realize that perhaps the *pew pew* pistol attack animation is simply incompatible with the flamer fire ammo animation.

Results to follow...

It works for me with Flamer attack animation, so if you don't mind at all, then just load 10mm Pistol model and adjust reload animation and that's all.

Still not working for me. My 10mm with flamer fuel still won't fire and the flamer I switched to a 10mm pistol model (keeping the ammo properties the same - hopefully the same result) somehow didn't change to a pistol (it's still a flamer) but I hold it like a pistol and when I fire, it makes the sound and he shakes the flamer (like a pistol firing) but still nothing comes out... strange.....

Hey Jyroe! Glad to see you around...

You can also try to add a script effect that uses the 'fireweapon' command to shoot a fire blast out of the nozzle when fireing a normal 10mm pistol. I believe you would have to script a check for the proper animation playing then use the fireweapon command.

You should make a new 1stperson static. Serach under statics for 1stperson, and make a new one and assign it to your weapon. Or use the 10mm Pistol 1st person static.
