Wher'es the Dark Brotherhood?

Ok, so in DF I killed a few people and got a note from the Brotherhood. I found out the house by talking around but there's no one in the house. Help?

As I recall they ask you to do a mission first. Don't you meet someone at an inn?

They want me to got to Andistair's Quality Potherbs Residence (I'm assuming so I can meet them) but there's no one there.

Ehh, that sounds like a store. Did you try talking to the shopkeeper? Did you ask around the town for special locations? Are you in the right town?

Yeah, I'm in the right town, but there's not even anyone in the building to talk to.

Maybe a stupid question - but are you visiting the store during opening hours?.. And there's no merchant?

"Andistair's Quality Potherbs Residence"

Residence? Maybe the guy's eccentric and named himself after his beloved shop..
Hmm.. confused..

Not even in the attic?

If there's an attic, click the ladder.

I don't think there's an attic but I'll check again.

The contact may not be there because you haven't completed the initiation quest:
1. Did you poison the wine?
2. Did you put the wine back on the floor?

#2 is what people miss the most.

I hate when I knock targets onto the second floor.

What iniatiation quest? I don't think I've gotten one.

Maybe you're on it right now. Loot for loot piles on the ground and maybe one has the wine in it. It's automatically poisoned and you drop it back on the ground.

You may have hit a rare bug for the Dark Brotherhood intro quest, which is that the first contact doesn't appear in a store. I recommend in that case that you reload from before you got the letter.

I had a quest the other day where i had to met a person in there house. I ran in looked all over the place for them but couldnt find them. Eventally i found there was a second floor that could only be reached by going into a closest type room, closing the door and climbing the wall where the door was.

That tricked me up.

Did you see a ladder on one wall? If it's the kind of room I'm thinking of, the ladder would have been immediately to your right as you enter the door. Ladders in Daggerfall do not work the way they do in most first-person shooters. Instead of climbing it in real-time, you click on it the way you would as if interacting with a door or switch, and it teleports you to the other end of the ladder.

Goto that town mentioned in your note and ask the people under "location> people" for Morgoya Greensmith and most definately check the store(s) (orange buildings on your local map). Have you tried the store during shop hours, usually from 9:00 to 19:00.

I recently did that quest. I had to talk to the shop keeper and click on "talk" (options "talk" & "sell") to start the initiation quest. And as Jormunqandr says, I also got stuck on #2 for a while.
