Fallout with Swords ?

Post » Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:02 pm

I remember when they announced Fallout 3 and the boards were full of "Fallout-enthusiasts" whining about Bethesda. They would ruin Fallout. They didn't like fast travel. The skill system would be too vanilla.

Now Skyrim has some elements of Fallout: perks, less skills (and hopefully a better dialogue system).

I for myself know too little about the game to judge, but I'm confident the guys from Beth will do a good job. It's only strangely quiet around here considering trolls and "enthusiasts".

And obligatory daily "Fallout with swords" tread... Great. Where people make ridiculous statements and offer ridiculous arguments to meticulous topic. I'll repeat what I already sad in one of the countless similar treads- if they did not drop a nuclear bomb on Skyrim since we so the last screenshot there is nothing to talk about.
Next question please.

It's just an idiom from the Fallout forums I used to rouse attention.

Many really devoted fan talked about "Oblivion with guns".

Edit oh the other word for "enthusiast" is still censored. ;)

I know but I still think it's going to be it's own game.

I like the perks part, it allows for more specialisation. The random encounters from fallout 3 is nice to have back in Skyrim, makes the game more exiting and not all predictable. But that is as far as it goes for me

Perks were in Daggerfall and Oblivion first, Fallout just had the latest incarnation of a TES system. Less skills really isn't a feature of fallout, I mean Oblivion had less skills than Morrowind <_< As for dialogue, the way they are talking, there will be way more dialogue that even Oblivion had and Oblivion had the most dialogue out of the last two TES games.

I'm not entirely sure what you hope to accomplish with this thread, but seeing your last sentence with a gratuituous polarizing comment thrown in, I'm just going to play it on the safe side and lock it before it turns nasty.
