Oblivion GOTY Official and Unofficial Patch Install Order

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 11:12 am

Hello.

What should be the install order of Oblivion patches, having the GOTY edition? I was thinking of:

1. Oblivion (GOTY Disc 1);
2. Official Oblivion Patch (v1.2.0416);
3. Unofficial Oblivion Patch (v3.2.0);
4. Unofficial Oblivion Patch Hotfix (v324);
5. Shivering Isles + Knights of the Nine (GOTY Disc 2);
6. Official Shivering Isles Patch (v1.2.0416);
7. Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch (v.1.4.0);
8. Unofficial Official Mods Patch (v15)

Is this correct? If not, what is the correct order?

Here is a link to "The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages" where you have links to all the patches, if you need help.

Thank you in advance.

GOTY is patched already. Just install the SI disc after you install Oblivion. Also, do not confuse the unofficial patches and the official patches. Installing the UOP, USIP and UOMPs is a separate procedure. Unless you are not installing any other mods, I do not recommend you install those three by hand. Have you read the mod FAQ at the top of the forum yet?

So both Oblivion and Shivering Isles are already patched to 1.2.0416? I took a look at the mod FAQ, but I decided to clear my doubts more directly.
Ok, so it seems that I should install O+SI and then the unnoficial patches via .omod files right? I know they can conflict with mods, but I'll load them first so that mods that modify the same entries overwrite them, what do you think?

Good Plan.

Is it essential to install SI after KotN and other DLCs, or the order isn't much important? Thing is, I already have SI installed but no KotN, will I have to reinstall Oblivion from scratch?

No. The order in which the DLCs are installed does not matter. They are mods that do not conflict data file-wise, so installation order is of no consequence. The same goes for any mods that do not have overlapping data files.
