Best Armor Mod

Post » Mon Apr 11, 2011 3:10 am

Hello Everyone
As the title shows I'm looking for a good armor mod for Oblivion and therefore I'm asking which ones you find the best.
I play a little allround, though mostly a sneaking, dagger-murdering dunmer, but I'm looking for armor for all types of characters.

I've allready got Bob's armory as a part of FCOM.

Can you give us a few more clues about what you consider "best"?

Some folks want minimal skimpies for their cute (female) elf that show as much of her as possible, while others are looking for a heavy ornate plate suit to totally hide the Orc inside it.Consequently they'll reccommend what matches their own tastes, not yours.

Which end of the spectrum are you at?

To which we might add, do you want male or female armor? Freebies, purchased in a shop, or found on dead bodies and in chests? Elaborate, or simple? Heavy, or light?

Give us a hint. ;)

Well, if we're just posting random armors we use for our characters, then I might as well say nothing because my guys have a metric assload of outfits for various moods. Feel like tarting about dressed up as a funky mage? Fractalis Robes. Down to business Leech Whackin' time? Either Vampire Hunter or one of my newer additions, Blood Magi outfits.
Sneaky Leech tiem? I have a couple outfits that make me feel sneakier without making me look stupid(IE no chameleon effects), and a spare set of clothes for after I've drank them dry.
Murderous Psycho? I haven't picked one for that yet, oddly enough, even though I play the DB quests as my main quest line. I tend to just go with either some somewhat sneaky outfits, some mage outfit I haven't worn in a while, or http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1269303070/med_gallery_1137_136_978341.png.

He's already said what type of character he plays and what he wants. Some of the biggest and best armor mods are Armamentarium, Artifacts, Vardenfell imports and Apachii heroes. Actually the best way to find such mods is probably to browse Tesnexus armor section where you can see how many endorsemants or downloads a mod has.

Personally, I like Vvardenfell Imports the best. ;)

If you're interested in sneaking gear, and want that classic Morrowind assassin look, the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/28246-1-1259020628.jpg(in the vvardenfell imports addon release) go pretty well together.

Well I mostly play male Characters as I mostly relate to those - I'm being a male - But I'm thinking of starting a female magician, so any six.
Though I do not like that armors doesn't cover the body, because it is meant to protect you.

I would love to be able to both pick the armors from dead bodies and buy them.

But the most important thing is that the textures aren't all rubish - I've come across one or two mods where the armors just looked flat and like end 90's graphics - so GOOD quality in graphics is my ultimate criteria!

Anyway
I just wan't a simple answer on what armor mod you think the best and then I can always deside.

I think perhaps you missed the boldfaced section. ;)

Now that Luzian has responded with more details, after your post, we may be able to help a bit. I'd suggest these for consideration:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21850

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=4814

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24320.

Note that if you decide to use both Slof's and ME 2.1, you need this patch:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19880

It simply allows for Slof and ME to coexist. Ordinarily, only the last mod of the two would show in Oblivion.

Armor for a female magic user, that isn't a steel bikini? Shameless selfplug as I use this for my own female battlemage: http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/104-starx-witch-hunter-armor/

Cheers!
