I keep seeing them say that, but I keep saying for all you know, you did get attacked by some wildlife and you killed it and moved on. Also, I've walked along roads in Cyrodiil before between places and even into the woods towards a cave and I've gone without getting attacked before. I mean seriously, I've also said "Why don't you get attacked by Cliff Racers when your riding a siltstrider?" ... [snip] .... What good does a fast travel system do if half the time it is worthless?
This sounds pretty reasonable, and a "fast walk" system wouldn't be so bad for most people I'm sure... what we complain about is
the way it was implemented: Just click on the map.. poof! you're there. It was just lazy game design and production. Do people rage on about the GTA taxi system so? No, of course not, because Rockstar put some effort into making it immersive and flexible and interesting/worthwhile sometimes. Did Bethesda do this with ES4 or FO3? No. In ES3, Silt Striders were by no means perfect, but they tried to make an immersive travel network. After that it seems like they didn't have the time or they decided not to bother. Wouldn't you like a
better implemented fast walk system???
