Add to the list of needed graphics mods

I personally find weapon sheaths to be clunky and impractical, but to each his own I guess. It does weird things with your clothes (equipping/unequipping, taking up armor slots)

Updated.
The few left out either didn't have screen shots or led directly to the download instead of the description page. I'll include them if others vouch for the suggestion or screens shots are put up.

I'd vouch for Sir Luthor's tools. I use it and like it. http://fessicsfavorites.wordpress.com/2008/07/03/sir-luthors-tools/ a link to a screenshot.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=3843 also really needs to go on the list. It fixes seams where Morrowind improperly blends together three textures and makes them look ugly. There's one by the same author for bloodmoon, or you can use his bloodmoon landscape overhaul, which does the same thing and includes some really nice textures as well. It changes the height map slightly though, so it could have incompatibilities with other mods. The Texture fix, however, won't have incompatibilities.

Sir Luthors tools have been added, and just need an issue cleared. With the texture fix at the bottom it mentions certain mods are required. Now is it just that this mod fixes problems in them too? Or are they necessary in order for this mod to even work at all?

If it's possible for that mod to work without the "required" ones I'll gladly add it to the list.

The "required" mods on that one should probably be listed as related instead. Texture Fix will work just fine without the others listed there - those should be used only if they apply to you.

One of mine that frequently gets overlooked: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=20128&id=6267, which does include some much-closer-to-original gray wall textures. I noticed you don't have a general Mournhold replacer up there yet, so I thought I'd contribute. :)

I second Green Marble Mournhold. I can't bear to play Tribunal without it. :)

Also, I would like to nominate Spewboy's Balmora III as an alternative to other Hlaalu texture replacers. And I'll second Vality's Bitter Coast/Balmora, as well as White Suran. Low res textures or no, it adds tremendous character to the town which vanilla Morrowind lacks... although I wouldn't complain if someone wanted to brush it up a bit to bring up the resolution. :)

I think these should be added to the list.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3149, beautiful and there is no other.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7951, much more current than the one already listed (and High-res)
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=254548&id=6844 because there isn't an Ingredient replacer listed.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=370, one of the few to exist.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2525 beautiful.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1947 popular and fits in with Lore nicely.

"however: Darker Morrowind's forts are fantastic " How do I find the textures for the forts? I have been looking in the textures folder & can sort out the ones for walls Tx_inp_wall_01.dds 02 03 & walltop. what else would I need? I have been looking at texture Packs & so far the one I like best is "allConnerysTextures" but there are already a few things that look a little to clean for my tastes, door textures, & some other architectural details it would be nice to mix & match.
Sorry if i'm hijacking the forum, I'm still new to this thanks in advance Beebee

This is a good list to help people get started playing the game.
Since it's so heavy in retextures this may help.
http://www.irfanview.com/
It's a free program that can open dds files so people can see textures and mix and match textures packs more easily. :foodndrink:

another tool for viewing dds files Windows Texture Viewer only a viewer but really fast http://developer.nvidia.com/object/windows_texture_viewer.html

Download Darker Morrowind and then do a search of the archive or the folder you extract that archive to for tx_imp. Copy all of those tex_imp .dds files to your /textures/ folder.

Another useful one here.
Lots of great suggestions in the OP and through-out the thread itself.

I've going to necro-respond to some super old posts here, because I haven't been active here in a while and only just caught them.

=>Shacky Shacks(!)
-Wyrm is awesome and I love their work, though in terms of their shack textures, I've always stuck with the default textures out of the Visual Pack XT. They might still be worth listing, Wyrm did a great job on them.

No I didn't!

Honestly, I haven't recommended Shacky Shacks(!) to anyone for at least a couple of years (I've warned people away from them though). I'm mighty flattered that it made this list, but I agree with Enzo here - most people are better off leaving the shacks with, for instance, the textures provided in Visual Pack XT. Mine have aged very, very poorly whereas Visual Pack has aged very, very well - They're much better than mine, and I do the same even in my own game.
Personally, I would recommend removing the recommendation for Shacky Shacks(!) from this list - it is far, far from being a 'needed' graphic mod. But that's just my feeling; if you want to leave it up, then please do so - I don't want to force your hand.

I do wonder though whether or not there is a 'better' individual replacer out there that might make the cut. Because using individual packs is more fun.
Maybe I ought to just take what I made for Shacky Shacks(!) 2.0 (which I never finished) and scale it to something achievable so I can just finish it off and release it on the weekend.
