Seattle's Requiem
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1177726-seattles-requiem/
Factions
Zin: The Zin are the most powerful tribe and largest. They are the descendants of Chinese and Korean spies and soldiers brought here by the Great War. Although many members of the Zin are regular tribesmen or citizens of Seattle that simply want to join. The Zin have technology akin to that of the Seattle itself, however the Zin focuses more on philosophy, society, and war rather than being techno-religious. The Zin focuses a lot on ancestry, and has a dictator who has supreme control.

The Zin controls about 70% of the Cascade Mountain Range and Mountain Rainier and the north part of Eastern Washington, where fertile land still exists.
Jupiter: Jupiter is a relatively new yet powerful tribe, second most powerful. They are mostly comprised of NCR defectors, Caesar's Legion defectors, Legion slave runaways, and gamblers who have nothing to lose. They're more akin to NCR where Jupiter relies on numbers rather than power and have technology similar t to them. Because of this, they always lose to the Zin during wars as their numbers are the same but the Zin are more disciplined. Focused on Pre-War values of democracy and have a "Chancellor" that the Jupiter members vote.

Jupiter controls Tri-Cities and the south part of Eastern Washington. Arch rivals with Zin(Cold War U.S and Russia).
Lolan: Lolan is the third most powerful. Lolan is comprised of raiders, mercenaries, and scavengers. Because of this, Lolan isn't one unified tribe but a collection of a bunch of smaller tribes acting under one leader, however the leader does not have much power. Lolan tribes are allowed to attack other Lolan tribes but if a third party that isn't Lolan attacks a Lolan tribe, the entire collective moves and that's when the leader has power. Lolan has the same technology Goodsprings or Freeside has.

Lolan tribes spread all around the Olympic Peninsula and the west side of the Puget Sound area.
Seattle & Overlords: The Overlords control all of Washington basically. They enforce their power using Securitrons, Sentry Bots, and Mr. Gutsy robots, not to mention an army of 3,000 strong. Seattle itself has all the amenities of Pre-War life from electricity to plumbing and only the rich can live there. Seattle is about 5 times larger than Pre-War Seattle.

The Overlords are corrupt and evil while many citizens are innocent or ignorant of the outside world. The Overlords are at the third generation.
Various Tribes&Towns: Washington is the home of a thousand tribes, many of them primitive and barbaric while others are very advanced and secluded. Towns on the other hand, live under the thumb of the Overlords, having to pay tribute to a Seattle envoy, however the towns are better to live in since Seattle protects them.
Major Locations(other than Seattle)
Rainer Springs: Both half way down Mountain Rainier and inside Rainier, this is the Capital City of the Zin. On the outside, it's a massive town made of wood, stone, and steel with many Pre-War necessities and luxuries with real heating to keep the city warm. On the inside, it's a massive bunker for Zin officials, generals, and the Consul. Holds an inactive nuclear bomb.
Tri-Cities: The Capital of the Jupiter. It's also much like Rainer Springs but without a bunker and heating. However, Tri-Cities is pretty warm on its own as it's down south. Pre-War luxuries are included but also houses ten M1A1 Abrams tanks, all inactive and broken. City Hall is where the Chancellor of the Jupiter lives.
Istanbul: Capital of Lolan and where the leader of Lolan lives. It's very small and very primitive but the leader's home, built in a valley in the Olympic Mountain Range, is very futuristic and modern. Mostly a giant farming area since snow never falls until winter.
Haran: The largest farming town in Washington. It's based in Eastern Washington under both Jupiter and Zin territory. Haran has no military so both Zin and Jupiter fight for the massive town and its crops.
Metronome: A small cultural town just outside Seattle. Its music is very popular in Seattle but because of the rebellion against Seattle by the Three Tribes, they protect Metronome from Seattle, the only city where all three tribes can be seen without fighting.
Federal Way: A large hunting town just outside the Seattle Walls and under protection by Zin. As a thanks to Zin for keeping the Overlord's presence out of Federal Way, they give 20% of all their game to Zin. Jupiter seeks to destroy the Zin forces and protect Federal Way themselves.
Rules
1. Be realistic. Don't pop a stimpak after you get shot.
2. Do not kill off other players characters unless they give you permission to. This does not apply to minor characters that the player may control(generic grunts). However, if the player doesn't want the minor characters to die, respect their rights to stop you.
3. Nobody can be an Overlord. The Overlords are passed from father to son.
4. No major plot change unless you consult both the other players and myself.
5. Don't go inactive unless you either tell the players before or give them a reason afterward.
6. Good grammar. I don't care if your post is only three sentences long, just make those three sentences readable.
7. If you can post, do so at least twice a week.
8. Your post can be both first person or third person, but if you switch, make sure to say so.
9. When talking out of character, please put OOC: before you put your message.
10. To make a custom town or faction, PM me(tribes can be made without my consultation).
11. Romance is allowed, as is controlling two characters. Three character max(this DOES NOT include minor characters like grunts).

Gear(bobby pins, medical stuff, etc.): Incendiary grenades.
Misc Gear(books, junk, family heirlooms): A golden locket with a picture of him and Evelyn.

Faction: Zin
Personality: Aiden is very polite, well spoken, and somewhat friendly. But that's just how he does business. Truly, Aiden is a highly intelligent leader type who believes the ends justify the means. It doesn't matter to him what he does to get a goal the Zin want so long as the end result is the same. But to family and friends, Aiden is very caring and protective.

Background: Aiden was born to the Zin, as the heir to the throne and first son. His father, Joseph, was chieftain and later, Consul of the Zin Empire. His mother was the owner of the largest hospital in Rainier Springs but only after the Zin Empire thrived as it did.

Aiden was given the best education, living standards, food, and training. However, he wasn't sheltered at all and befriended a poor girl, Evelyn, who at the time was the daughter of one of the Rainier Springs' hunters. The two eventually started to date at 14 and kept on it, even after Joseph forbade Aiden to see her.

At 13, Aiden got a sister, Dawn, who was supposed to be the chief councilor but was kicked out of the family as time went by due to her incompetence as a leader and focus was shifted on Aiden(kicked out of the family means her name wasn't documented as the daughter of Joseph).

At 16, just like all Zin citizens, Aiden was given role. That role, was Supreme Commander of all Zin forces. Aiden had been training for all of his life for this and he was ready. Although many were reluctant at first to follow him into battle, Aiden proved his worth in various skirmishes against the Jupiter forces.

At 20 years old, Aiden participated in his first ever true war with Lolan in the Battle of Federal Way when one of the more powerful tribes in Lolan attacked Federal Way. Aiden's tactical prowess allowed him to completely decimate the tribe's forces and protect Federal Way. When he returned to Rainier Springs, Aiden was hailed a hero.

When Aiden was 26, his father stepped down as leader and gave control to Aiden. Under Aiden's leadership, the Zin Empire flourished as more people were in the Empire and the Jupiter Empire backed off and assumed position as the true #2 and accepted it rather than try attacking Zin. At this age, Aiden married Evelyn, despite his father's hatred of her.

When he was 28, Aiden welcomed back Dawn into the family, who was 15 by then and cleared her name. Dawn now is the apprentice of Evelyn who became the chief councilor.

Jack Fitzgerald

I walked into the room. Blood stains all over, this room had been home to thousands of deaths. A girl sat in a chair.

"Look what we have here." I said, pulling out a knife. I placed it at her throat "Your going to tell me all you know."

She looked at me in disgust "Why should I? The Lolan's will avenge this."

The guards at the door laughed

"No, they won't, because they won't know." I said. A guard threw me a sawed off double barrel "Now, I'm going to ask ONE MORE TIME. TELL ME ALL YOU KNOW!"

She spat at me. I pulled out the cigar in my mouth and stuck it in her eye. She cried in agony. I motioned for a guard to kill her. The guard walked up, and cut her throat with a Katana.

"Now, clean this mess up. This place disgusts me." I walked out of the building and out onto the tribal area. The Iceni may have not been strong, but we got by. The snow crackled as I walked down the 'street'. Wood huts line the 'street'. A wooden wall, spiked, was set up around our tribal village. I walked into the main hut, which had our tribal leader in it.

"My son." said my Father, who was the tribe's leader

"Dad." I said, we hugged, and I sat down on a Pre-War chair.

"Jack, we need to act. I want you and ten men to go to the Tri-Cities and get a alliance with the Jupiter's." said my Father. I nodded and walked out.

Ares stood outside his small house, listening to the young man finish up his message.

"-and hopefully start an alliance with the Jupiters."

"Sounds good to me." mumbled Ares.

He made his way towards the city center, a small area were most of the citizens congregated. Ares spotted Jack leaving his fathers hut, and walked up to him. Ares had great respect for the man, although he was younger than Ares.

"Jack, I hear wer are heading out towards the Tri-Cities. I thought I would just ask you if you have any plans for the mission. I need to know what to expect."

Aiden Park

Aiden headed outside for the first time in ages after discussing the matters of the atomic bomb. When he opened the main bunker door, which was renovated to regular metal double doors, he was greeted with the icy cold wind. It was much more welcoming than the dull, 60 degree standard the bunker had.

He breathed in deeply as the massive city of Rainer Springs came into view. From low balcony, Aiden didn't see much. When he looked down, he could see Evelyn and his various councilors and Generals all waving to him. "Hey, about time you left that place, let's go eat!" Evelyn yelled out.

Aiden smiled and headed down from the balcony of the bunker entrance but was interrupted by one of his secretaries. "We've dispatched three soldiers to block the Jupiter tribe's caravans and messengers. That should keep them at bay."

The Jupiter tribe, after staying dormant for about three years, they started to resurface. That would teach them a lesson. But Aiden simply nodded and headed with Evelyn and his "co-workers" to a high class restaurant.

"Jack, I hear wer are heading out towards the Tri-Cities. I thought I would just ask you if you have any plans for the mission. I need to know what to expect."

"Not much, Ares, we go, we show up, we ask for a Alliance, and come back." I said, I motioned for the nine other men to come with him.

"Sounds nice and simple." Ares made sure he had all his equipment, and then caught up to Jack, who was already heading out the gate. The other nine that had came along were well known warriors of the village, each having quite a few kills under their belt. Ares felt honored to be on this mission, it could be the deciding factor in the tribes success. He caught up to Jack and started walking beside him. This will be interesting.

Charlie Moore

Charlie walked through the wind and snow, it bit at his face but his bandana kept it him warmer. His cloak draqed around him keeping the snow away from his body and armour. He was heading towards a small village where a tribe known as the Iceni lived.

He had heard of their reputation as a brutal tribe, this tribe was also responsible for the deaths of many of his now extinct tribes members. He had arrived at the wall to the town and was ushered inside. He found a small inn to stay at and quickly settled down in his room.

What the hell am I going to do with my life?

Gunnar - Outside City Hall, Tri-Cities

Gunnar stood silently outisde the main doors leading into City Hall; once again, the Ranger found himself on guard duty. Should be scouting; I might not want to fight the Zins, but it'd be a good idea to keep track of them. Gunnar surveyed the busy streets that encircled the grand building, but didn't notice any trouble just yet.

Actually, I don't even know why I volunteered for this job... there were plenty of others around to do it. I guess I can't trust half the people in this town. Gunnar shook his head, noticed the replacement guard, apparently a one time Legionnaire, arriving to take the Ranger's place. Finally; now I can head out to the city gates, maybe wander about outside for awhile.

Gunnar brushed past the ex-Legion man, who gave the Ranger a dirty look as he passed. Not wanting to stir up trouble, Gunnar ignored the man and took off in the direction of the city gates.

Jeff Busby

Jeff held the man against the wall and pushed him to his knees, bumping his head against the concrete wall as he did so. The man spat a curse at Jeff so he kneed him in the kidneys and he fell. He finished tying him up and stepped back to join the rest of the Zin fighters. The commander barked at them to raise their weapons, and the fighters did so in unison, a few moments later they pulled the triggers and the wall was splashed with blood. The next group were pushed forward violently by the Zin fighters waiting nearby, and the dead ones were dragged into a mass grave to the side. The grisly business carried on until well into the evening.

***

The town of Metronome and the surrounding farmlands had been captured the previous day, the garrison had been caught in their sleep and had not been able to put up a proper fight. This was one of the most vital, and heavily contested, areas in Washington state. In the past two months it had changed hands a total of seven times, each followed by a crackdown on the opposing sides supporters. Jeff had been involved in most of these battles, and was beginning to show it, he had a bandage wrapped around his arm, and he was missing his ring finger. He had managed to get off guard duty with his company and was enjoying some rare moments of peace when the Captain arrived.

"Company D, the Commander wants to see you in the briefing room, pronto!"

Gunnar - Outside City Walls, Tri-Cities

Gunnar left Tri-Cities with a nod to the soldier guarding the gate. Gunnar had seen the soldier standing watch many a time, and knew he was also ex-NCR. Unlike Gunnar, however, the man was all for killing the Zin. I dunno why we can't all just work togther. Gunnar thought as he trudged down the cracked road, Hell, with our combined numbers, I bet we could give Seattle a run for its money. Shaking his head, the Ranger snapped out of his improbable dream, and continued to follow the broken path. A few miles later, he found himself at a crossroads; disturbingly enough, the Ranger also spotted a large stain in the center of the split path. Oh, what the hell...

Gunnar raised his P90c and flicked the safety off. Approaching the stain, Gunnar found quite a few long, ragged rents in the dirt of the path. Christ, are those from a Deathclaw? Ah, [censored]. Gunnar dropped down into a crouch, hoping to make himself less visible to whatever may have been watching. As he examined the rest of the scene, the Ranger found that stain was long ago dried blood. Not wanting to stick around any longer, Gunnar secured his P90 and started to run back to the Tri-Cities. [censored], I sure as hell hope I don't run into the beast that did that. Better warn the Gate Guardian 'bout it as well...

Jeff Busby

The command was always the place which looked least damaged in the town, whilst still controlling an area near the center of the town, and this time it happened to be a pew-war office building which had lost all but its bottom three storeys. Jeff walked in with the rest of the company and took the stairs up to where the regimental commander was. They could have taken the elevator, but it was almost guaranteed that the Jupiter had broken it so it would stop and leave them stuck, or the previous Zin garrison had done the same. They walked into the briefing room with an air of annoyance, it was very rare to get time to relax. The commander greeted them cordially as they checked out the shabby room, it had probably been full of rows of office cubicles at one point, but most of the material had been salvaged as defences for the town, and now all that was left was a number of desks at the far end of the room, some telephones of which no use could be found and some pre-war posters thrown up on the walls to give a more positive atmosphere to the place.

'Gentlemen' said the commander, which merited a few half-hearted laughs, 'You are probably wondering why I called you here today, well I have an important mission for you. As you well know this town has changed hands many times in the past few months, with no side able to hold onto the area for very long, due to both sides getting a large portion of their food supplies from here, and not being able to afford the enemy owning it. This is having a, negative, effect on the popular perception of the war and expenditure in lives ammunition and money generally. So, to break this stalemate the higher-ups have decided to distract the Jupiter by getting the Lolan to attack them. It will be a small raid carried out by Zin troops, or rather, you lads and you will be disguised as Jupiter troops, the rest of the information is in theses briefings.' he said motioning for his aid to pass them out.

After allowing a short while for the men to read the briefing the commander informed them they would be moving out at dawn the following day, and everything was already prepared for them.

D:, I'm sad panda. No post for 2 days...

Aiden Park

Aiden happily ate his food in a small tavern, built like a King's palace. It was only for the rich people who either made a living with dangerous caravan roads, which were a reward in its own right, or a government official. But nonetheless, the food was worth the 500 caps per meal cost.

He looked at Evelyn, who seemed already tired but Aiden simply laughed it off before going to one of the Generals, Robert, the Supreme Commander and his closest friend, and asking for him to take Evelyn back to his home. Robert complied fast enough.

Aiden smiled as Robert lifted Evelyn up easily. Compared to his hulking figure, Evelyn looked like a child being picked up by her father or older brother. He laughed at the comparison before preparing his personal squad for battle. Destination was the Iceni Tribe, which wasn't the matter of whether or not the Zin could beat them, because the Nex squad, a special forces unit, could easily wipe out the tribe.

It was the fact that Jupiter knew better than Aiden how to control smaller tribes, and they'd use whatever the Iceni people were good at to their advantage. He got ready and suited up in the Zin King Power Armour as his father called it. It was basically a T-45d power armour adorned with white as snow painting, but it seemed royal to his father.

Aiden headed down with the squad to the Iceni tribe area, full with intentions of alliance rather than war.
