You're welcome!
Yeah they should really do something about the AI over at Codies. Like in F1, when someone crashed into the back of my car, it was always me who got the penalty. The AI cars always seemed to quick-start or so, because no matter what, you'd always lose like three to five places before the first corner. And Virgins started lapping at light speed once. Car twenty-four being placed twelfth. team mates trying to get you killed. A bloody nightmare at times.
Just read some threads on the board and you'll see there's much to be improved. A lot of people get insta-banned because they're so angry about the game's flaws lol.
Hope things will change for the better for you then.
Arranging a race through Steam would be a bit difficult, because I'm one of those that loathes it with passion. Perhaps there'll be another way.
You won't find me at Suzuka though. Now that track is a true nightmare. There's a corner everyone goes off, judging by posts on the board. By the way, the ranking system is pretty [censored]: the first one to hit level fifty stays there for eternity. It isn't based on recent performance. Only the time you hit level fifty. So if a real sim nut buys it only now and makes everyone online look ridiculous, he won't get the appropriate recognition for it.
Nice to have you around because it remained awkwardly quiet in here when I'd mention race sims. Which is why this thread will die a cruel death.
It's funny how I'm active at or a visitor of a multitude of boards, yet I have to run into someone I actually know from someplace else. Like no BSG'er would play TW or CoD or BiA or the other way around.
I love that track on FM. But so far I have been really happy with Race 07, its a really great driving game, I spent about 30 minutes before I could really put the car around the track with the controller. I had the A.I at 80% and I was only 2 seconds faster then the A.I.
They react well, and make mistakes if you pressure them (I followed some around for a bit to see what would happen) flags and flagmen are really neat too. They really wave the flag as you drive by.
Having 25 cars on track is a blast.
If you like a challenge I suggest the race 07 pack with STCC The game and Race on bundle.
I wouldn't consider the need for speed series, even the more realistic ones like Shift. There are no long races, the AI plays really dirty, adding a sense of action.
I too am considering getting F1. I used to stay up till ridiculous times waiting for the F1 races to come on. Personally, Forza 3 keeps me occupied in terms of racing.
As you progress throughout the game, the races become longer. Turning off Traction control, stability control, and Antilocks in the options menu (along with other driver assists) gives each car a realistic and unique feel. The online community offers tuner setups for nearly every car in the game so you can get the most out any car you buy or win.
I'm sure you have forza though...Its like owning a PS3 and not having granturismo, am I right?
I hated shift on the 360. Then I got it for the PC. its ok, but Grid is way better (imo)
I had a PS3 and a 360, but I sold them and joined PC gaming! I love my PC!
Race 07 doesn't have F1, but it does have F3000, and its way fun.
I suggest anyone with a wheel or a controller and a passion for cars and racing to check it out.
Here is a little review.
Race 07 (havent D/L race on and STCC the game yet)
Graphics, gets the job done, not pretty but not ugly. 7/10
Options.
Well you can adjust, seat postion foward/back and up/down as well as just about any setting on the cars. Weather is in the game, but I haven't ran in the rain yet.
Controls are completely changeable.
Auto
Manual with auto clutch
full manual.
You can kill the car if you stall it and have to start it back.
Realistic damage. (well good anyway)
Over all, options 9/10
Cars are completely yours to play with, fuel amount, tires caster/camber anything.
A.I does a good job of driving like a real driver.
Over all, with a controller I am having a blast, but a wheel would be amazing with this game. I want a G27 so bad now.
