Indirectly apropos to this discussion is something I was pondering recently... how degraded does a companion's health have to be before they will use potions, or is there no hard and fast rule? For example, Jasmine still has all of the Restore Health & Restore Magicka potions (15 of each) that I gave her originally, some 300 or so day days ago. Constance will complain that she is injured and only seems to take potions if I tell her to (despite always having an ample supply in her inventory). Not sure what Julan's typical behavior is (if there is such a thing as "typical Julan behavior")... I maxed out his Restoration skill ages ago, and since he uses a lot more Magicka potions than he does Restore Health potions, I assume he will cast before swilling - even so, after a tough opponent and with depleted Magicka and his health at what I consider to be an alarming level (below 50%), Julan doesn't automagically take a potion. Hmmmm... is it that a companion will only take potions until they are no longer in peril? In general, I try to keep everyone in pretty good shape with an area Restore Health spell, but now I wonder if I am over-cautious... So, just how much does companion health need to be micro-managed?
