Wakim's overpowered NPC's frost spell

Post » Mon May 09, 2011 9:38 am

Wakim adds this frost spell to NPCs and it makes it really annoying to fight anybody, because if you're a character with not so much hp (and you're not a nord, or having resist frost spells/enchant) they just get you with 1 of this target spell and you're dead. This mod is ruined because of this one thing in my opinion... But I don't know anything about the CS, so I'd like to know how can I change it in the CS to do less damage.

You could try using BTB's Game Improvements instead, it was developed initially as a continuation of Wakim's balancing efforts

You'll find more info on BTB's mod collection page- his own Game Improvements mod is one of those listed, about halfway down the list. It's modular like Wakim's.

The Brittlewind Fix shouldn't be necessary if you're using the Morrowind Patch Project (you ARE using the Morrowind Patch Project, aren't you?)

The cause of this is that the "always succeeds" flag is checked for this spell in the game by default, which means it's the automatic go-to spell for any NPC wanting to deal some damage. The Morrowind Patch Project unchecks this flag for Brittlewind, as well as a whole host of other spells that shouldn't have had it in the first place.

EDIT: actually, it removes the "auto-calculate" flag, not the "always succeeds" flag.
