I have CASM set to save every 5 minutes cycling through 50 saves. I also use the option to have different saves for different characters.

CASM truly is awesome. Thanks for reminding me too, I recently reinstalled Fallout 3 and didn't include it. I always hate crashing and then realizing I hadn't saved in an hour.
