Lets put on a show!

So, as I sit watching a marvelous rendition of Shakespear's Henry V, a idea was made manifest within the confines of my mind. Now, this is a very rough idea at the moment, and is quite open to future change.

The RP would consist of two parts. The first part is that the RPers are citizens of the Imperial City that are going to see a stage play of The Remanada, essentially Reman I's rise to the throne of Cyrodiil, and the climatic battle of Pale Pass. When everything is settled, and the play starts, the RPers would then take on the roles of important people of that time (A list of people would be provided for people to pick roles to play). The RP would then become a dramatic reenactment of those events.

The play would be interrupted from time to time for intermissions, where the RPers then go back to their roles as citizens of the Imperial City.

Remember, this is in the rough stages. And I'm laughing at myself for even proposing this. But it would be an interesting change from all the serious, intense RPs. Haminess would be a requirement.

Hmm... Everything in me wants to say no, but I never did get comedies. Honestly I have never seen a good "hammy" RP, mostly due to people's differing senses of humor, though it might work if you keep people from getting out of hand. I probably wouldn't join, as I have no sense of humor, but I know quite a few of the others do, so feel free to try it with them :D

The subject of the play is fine, though it wouldn't be the first thing I would have picked, as very few people know the details of that event. Perhaps something like the Oblivion Crisis, which everyone knows about in detail, and we can all have fun poking at the game mechanics and whatnot :P

Would it be a strict reenactment or would there be some latitude in terms of historical accuracy?

sounds like a kewl idea, but there needs to be the flambouyant costumes and men in tights

If you were to do something like this, I would like to do a straight up RP idea of pale pass, where the RPers ARE the people from pale pass.

It would be borderline "make it up as you go". Since historical events in TES get very little exploration, we don't know a good deal about the First Era, or even Reman himself. The only concrete things would be Reman's birth, his ascension to the throne of Cyrodiil, his rallying of Colovia and Nibenay, and his victory at Pale Pass. Everything in between is open to being played with.

A completely ad-libbed historical re-enactment? I'll gladly play as many khajiit roles as possible... And, if there were any KPT in the battle of Pale Pass, my character would be able to play them as well... but I may go somewhat overboard with Akavir="Parody Japanese" thing...

Possible lines/events I can see from this being a dramatic production: Someone playing an "extra" who decides to be a War Hero, "Forgetting" to "die" when a "Hero" strikes him... or the villain trying to not say "Stop Hitting me and let me finish my damn dramatic death monologue!"

Ooh, that's a really creative idea... Ad-hoc improvs and fourth-wall-breaking shall certainly ensue! I think I'd be up for giving it a shot.

But my Lore is REALLY rusty. Could someone list a couple applicable in-game books, so I can brush up on the time period a bit? Otherwise I'd worry about completely murdering what little Lore is known.
