Splinter Cell:Double Agent

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:55 pm

Should I get Double Agent? I remember playing the original and Chaos Theory on PS2. My roommate has Conviction and I just started playing it today. I know I'm out of order, but that's beside the point.

Good game or no?

Yeah, you should get it. It should be like $10. Its not like Conviction, the gameplay is like the other Splinter Cell games

As long as you understand that the game involves way more hardcoe stealth than Conviction, then get it. If you approach it like Conviction, you'll end up [censored] yourself over very quickly. I find all of the Splinter Cell games to be fun, so yes, get it now.

Yes, good game. I remember when me and my uncle beat it over night the first day it came out. Good times  .

Yes, get it. Apparently the Xbox original version turned out to be canon, but I don't really care as Conviction was perhaps the worst molestation of a franchise I've ever seen and so I didn't go on to play it anyway. Double Agent is the last proper Splinter Cell game, and it's cheap as dirt. If you enjoyed Chaos Theory it would be criminal not to get it.

If you can get it cheap enough, yes. I'd not pay more than $5 for it. Incidentally, I'm selling my Xbox version (not 360...that sold long ago). That should say something since I've saved every game from before Double Agent and refuse to buy Conviction unless I happen to see it in the $5 bargain bin and have nothing better to do with my time.

It was a major disappointment after Chaos Theory...which arguably has been the best game they made in the series.

That the Xbox and 360 versions of the game were not even remotely similar really was a bad move. Yeah, different details in the missions for the sake of the 360 having better hardware, but the maps, objectives, etc. should have been identical across platforms.

I was on a Splinter Cell forum. It finally shut down before Conviction came out, and these were dedicated fanbois for the series. The affection for Conviction was pretty much zero.

Ubisoft screwed the pooch in the direction they took the series. They took a top notch stealth game and turned it into a largely FPS-type of action game...just like how many others out there.

Yes. I wold still be playing it if I didnt loose the disk.

Its great, proper stealth, and if the plan fails (on that damn middle eastern level mine did) you can fight your way out,but its in a way you really want to avoid a fight, you can tackle it head on but its damn hard.
It also has a great morality system do you do the right thing and risk blowing your cover ? Or do you keep up the terrorist act to keep safe. I loved that game. I hope I can play it again.

Also great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz4gKdx8CKc.
I didnt play multiplayer, I assume the community is dead.

Ehhhh, the Ps2 version was for fun to me than the PS3 one to be honest. Not to say it was bad, but Double Agent on PS3 was kind of off, it had alot of 'this doesn't feel very Splinter Cell ' moments
