Crashes to blue screen.

I recently installed a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Now I get crashes to blue screen every now and then. It seems to be linked to the amount I'm downloading off the internet.

If I try and download large files through Chrome, download a map in a game, or download a file through some other programs, I get a blue-screen.

However, I don't get a blue-screen in some cases. For example: I downloaded 2 games through Steam and nothing happened. I also updated my antivirus which was quite large and nothing happened. But I almost ALWAYS get a crash if I try and watch YouTube vids, for example.

It can't be the HDD since it happens despite which HDD I'm downloading on to. I also moved hundreds of gigabytes around recently and nothing happened so I doubt that's the case.

I don't even know where to start with this. Any help?

PS: I wasn't too worried at first because I was planning to reinstall Windows soon anyway and I figured that'd probably fix the problem. But I reinstalled Windows today to a new HDD and I just got the crash again while downloading some programs, so it can't be that.

It could be a lot of things...a bad stick of RAM, a corrupted driver, a weak PSU. You may be able to pin it down with the stop code and any file name that show on the blue screen. If the screen just flashes, you need to turn off auto restart to give you time to make note of the info. Click Start/Control Panel/System and Advanced System Settings. Click the Settings button in Startup and Recovery and remove the check mark next to Automatically Restart. Then post the stop code and file name, if any, when you get the next crash.

It doesn't flash. It says something about dumping memory for a few seconds then it restarts. I'll note it down in a while but right now I'm busy moving my backup back on to my HDD. Which should be done in an hour or so.

Googling tells me that it's the modem drivers. I've replaced the modem now and reinstalled the drivers. Downloading a large file and gonna watch some YT. Hopefully all goes well.

EDIT: Is it possible this was caused by the USB port? I plugged it into a new USB port and I just watched well over 15 minutes of YouTube and downloaded some files and no crashes yet. I'll leave it on overnight to DL something large and see the results tomorrow. Hopefully this was easily fixed.

Googling tells me that it's the modem drivers. I've replaced the modem now and reinstalled the drivers. Downloading a large file and gonna watch some YT. Hopefully all goes well.

EDIT: Is it possible this was caused by the USB port? I plugged it into a new USB port and I just watched well over 15 minutes of YouTube and downloaded some files and no crashes yet. I'll leave it on overnight to DL something large and see the results tomorrow. Hopefully this was easily fixed.

It's a computer. Anything's possible. :P

Good job with it so far...here's hoping.
