WE WANT MODS ON CONSOLES!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:43 pm

Xbox 360 already provides user-created some content in for some games. I don't see why it would be impossible to get mods on my xbox 360, especially since 360 can hook up to my computer wirelessly.

I know you PC gamers are thinking "No!! User-mods are ours!! Consoles are stupid and so are you!!!" but if you can look at the situation objectively you would probably agree with me. There's no reason I can think of which makes it so they CAN'T provide user created content for xbox 360 or ps3. If there is a problem that makes it IMPOSSIBLE I think myself and many others would like to know and I would like to hear this explanation from someone at bethesda.

PLEASE ADD MOD SUPPORT TO CONSOLES, BETHESDA!!!!

Mods are something that makes these games truly great. my computer can only run morrowind smoothly so i just recently experienced the incredibly large (and still growing) body of user based content for that game. However, i enjoy playing with a controller on my TV much more + cant afford a new decent computer .

Some reasons you didn't think of.

Legal reasons. MS and Sony are currently against mods that aren't under their control.

Technical reasons. Multiple mods can make the game unstable. Factor in a consoles lower memory and closed file systems and the situation becomes difficult.

Cost. Bethesda would need to implement a system of porting and implementing the mods.

There's loads more reasons, but the bottom line is 'it ain't gonna happen'.

Plus this is like the fourth thread on this topic in half that many days.

Your view of PC users is pretty shallow. We are hardly children squandering Mods because "THEY"RE OURS LOL UR DUMB"

DLC and expansions aside, there are a slew of technical limitations that are the reason you can't mod xbox games. It's not such a simple issue.

I think it would be cool if console users could download mods and run them, although given how Microsoft and Sony are so clamped down on digital content I don't see if it'd be easy for Bethesda to negotiate.

But by all means, it would be nice if they could do this. I'd be able to finally force my console gaming friends to play my mods!

You're barking up the wrong tree. Your plea should be directed at Microsoft...

You will need to talk to Microsoft for Xbox and Sony for PS3 about that.

I've already removed a post about modding consoles which isn't allowed for discussion here since it is against the EULA.

I'm closing this now before someone must be warned for such discussion.

And don't shout.
