Radiated

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:22 am

I went to the glow to get the item for the BOS. However, I am radiated, and whenever I try to travel back to the Brotherhood, I die. How do I make myself non-radiated? I have a Rad-X and 4 Rad-Away

Err... unless you're crazy radiated 4 rad away should do it.

get some stimpacks before hand then head to the glow and right after you leave use the rad-away then heal up and rest as soon as you can you should get over teh rad poisoning once you reach the BOS HQ place

I have already been to the glow, thus why I cannot simply take Rad-X before I get there. My only save is in the Glow with primary power on, with a plasma rifle and combat armor.

well it ahs been awhile since i've played FO1, but if memory serves me you don't get the power armor till after teh brotherhood fo steel aceepts you for your good deed. and you'll start to suffer from ghoul stats before hend and can be healed up by there doctor, (AKA slowed movements)

I said I have COMBAT armor, not POWER armor, and that was not my question anyway. Read my original post please.

I have tried that many times. After about 12 hours after me leaving the glow or resting I die. I dont get any messages, just the death image and voiceover.

"Q: I saved the game in the Glow and every time I leave and move anywhere on the world map I die.
A: You've been seriously radiated. Either you didn't eat Rad-X to protect yourself, or you lingered too long. RadAway won't help you now, so if you saved the game in between soaking up lethal radiation and dying from it, you'll have to look for an earlier save and continue from there. You may be able to employ drugs to withstand the radiation damage (see table in Character Design). Failing all else you can use Falche to raise your stats, but remember to put things right again afterwards, or you will be (even more of) a dirty cheater"

found this on a fallout 1 walkthrough.
thought it could help,
seems the only way is to load up a previous save
or use this "Falche" thing they are talking about.

hmm, sorry I am not sure.
I have not used Falche, I'll do some research,
and see if I can back to you.

LOL I have never seen radiation levels that high... You are a gonner dude, you need 650 radaways to cure you... Rad away only removes 100 rads each.

I have allowed myself to get up to 500 rads before and have lived... but 65025 rads... wow...

i didnt even know you can stay alive with 65025 radiation.

On falche, you might have to find the fallout directory manually. Like instead of using the directory they give you just find the fallout file yourself.

Possibly if you can get to a place where there is an autodoc or a doctor that can cure your radiation sickness they can cure all of it.

In fallout 2 I know there where several places that could cure your radiation for free, not sure about fallout 1 though.

I can only go about 6 hours travelling from the Glow before I die. So I cannot get close to anywhere. I didnt have any Rad-X when I entered the glow, so thats why my radiation is so high. Is there someway for me to cure it easily or cheat to teleport to another town?

I am sorry to triple post in 1 thread, but my problem has changed.

I used the level editor to max out my stats, and then was able to survive the effect of the radiation and travel. However when I try to travel too far, the game crashes. I was able to get to the Cathedral and save, but when I try to travel to anywhere else, I only get about 1 grid away and the game gives me a black screen.

Maybe it helped when you open the console with "^" and enter "tgm". Then you should be able to get to a doctor.

This is Fallout 1, not Fallout 3. Fallout 1 has no console. And as I have already said, I have fixed the radiation problem, I am now having problems with crashing.

OK to recap..

You messed up by getting really badly radiated

You cheated to sort out that [censored] up

The game now crashes all the time

Start again....you know you want to.
