And Brink's NOT part dress-up game? Whaaaaaaaaaaat?
Lol, let's take out the customization then---clothing, faces, archetypes, gun customization (it's still "dressing up" your gun), etc. Just to add, guns are considered as "lethal accessories" to me, lol!

Even if it equals zero, a cute girl is still there representing the female population in some form or fashion. And even if she isn't totally cute, women are there. I mean I'm not asking for a grandma character teetering around with a pistol, even just one measly female character with limited depth of build and resources is all I'm asking for. Just one...otherwise I'm going to assume that the Ark is full of gay men butt-plugging it every night. It'll be the only solace I have to get me through the game. (LOL)

I don't want Brink to be delayed, but at the same time they can start on expansions at any time. Bring on the cute girls with the big guns and forget about making a heavy-set, super buff character. Final Fantasy didn't have super buff women, um, Borderlands didn't have a super buff woman, um, drawing blanks here on other games with women... there are plenty of games that have character builds, albeit they aren't like Brink's model of super deep character build, but still...I think if we raise enough guff, and encourage enough people to buy Brink, they will surprise us with an expansion with school girls in combat boots (think Liv Tyler in Empire Records.) with .50 cal's and pink thongs. Am I getting to bi-sixual here? Perhaps.

"Yoko", yes. I started re-watching the series last night. Serendipitous that I would find the post I quoted, a day later. Opportunities abound. :D

Well, no. The Ark would be the equivalent of the Beastmen: up on high, authority, and civilized. Yoko was from the city next to the main character's, so she'd be with them on the Resistance-esque side.

Not like Splamage needs advice on something they already reached conclusion on, but I would do body types like Yoko's for light, typica, what you expect, everyday Jane for average, and then use Fable 2's female models for the heavies. "Heavy" isn't to imply obese, but weighing more. Disperse the flab, thicken them bones, show the muscle it takes to get that much woman moving, and you've got a female model that passes as heavy without exaggerating anything offensive. In the end, it shouldn't really matter. If you're gonna buy a game to oggle the female models, Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball should be pretty cheap these days.

Yea those body type examples you gave would go against the art style of Brink.

Oh, Urban. Such a gentleman.

I gotta know, why do you resist the jest of a female model like Yoko in a video game already destined for amazingness? Gold isn't too pretty to polish, you know.

To be perfectly honest, just being able to convince myself that my eye-candy character is distracting people will bring me happiness and laughter.

Because that type of female is overused.

Guns are over-used. However, they work pretty well. Why bother with sharp sticks?

I understand, variation is good. I do agree. But I personally expect consistency, too. A great game with great mechanics, great story, great this and great that shouldn't limit itself to sub-par character models. I know, we can't exactly play as Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, but we can lighten that blow with masks and jacket hoods. If they left us with only lumberjacks to use for female characters, I can say I'd be very disappointed. To keep up the Brink art style, yea, a gal's facial features would be exaggerated. Not to be insensitive, but we could surely mask/hood the females, too. I expect the character models to more focus on body shape that sixy faces. Considering they would need a body shape for lights, I don't see why they'd decide against slim, attractive build because it's too ubiquitous. As I stated, they've essentially locked themselves into that slim build requirement by offering the light frame character.

Essentially, if they add female characters for player use, they're not gonna make the light female stocky because of how frequently every medium sells attractive figures.

But they are going for hyper-realism. Stressing the colors not the body features...2 examples...
1) A female medium soldier should not have a chest the size of hot air balloons. In the military girls are told do strap them down.
2) By that logic, should the men have thick bulges in the pants? If we can over stress one we should the other

i've heard alot of talk of Heavy girls not looking like she-hulk or anything or scary big...then what exactly is the diff between a heavy and a Med the Med guy - Heavy guy is an enormous difference the guy is and ogre now if you don't have a Fem with a body style very similar then your just going for looks make her look better then make sense the light is tall&skinny the Med is a balance of height and size ,the Heavy is just plain huge there fore the females should be alike. big heavy girls need luvin' too y'all!

Topic closed. Post count limit - and it looks like this would take some clean-up, as well.

I'll discuss this with the other mods, but I think we'll at least want this discussion to cool down before another thread opens up about it. Stay tuned.
...how did this not get flagged by a Moder?

Oh yeah - I forgot to put my +3 Cap of Omnipotence on this morning, thanks for reminding me! :P

(Believe it or not, we're not sitting together in a dank dungeon reading every single post as it goes up in real-time.)
