Pre-Orders from Walmart, Amazon, and Steam

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:32 am

Well durr!
Of course it'll be available to the public eventually! I didn't pre order for that, I pre ordered to get my Brink on on day 1!

Agreed, it doesn't matter. It shouldn't matter! If someone pre-orders Brink just because they get a few "exclusive" items they are a weenie... don't even know what that is.

The items should definetly be available later. People who pre-order should just get them earlier... and maybe don't have to pay for them.

If I like the Spec Ops pack the most, but I also like the Fallout headgear, doesn't it make sense to pre-order for whichever one WON'T have it's bonuses released at a later date?

If Spec Ops stuff gets patched in or released as DLC later, but the Fallout one doesn't, I may as well get the latter for it's exclusive gear since the other's will become available to me anyway (and because the Fallout one is the ONLY pre-order available in NZ so far anyway). Makes sense, no? That's where MY curiosity stemmed from.

That's sneaky dev talk though. God knows what they mean by "no plans", they could have agreed within the development studio to do it already, just not have established the means yet.

If this is a through and through true statement, it would also imply that each pre-order pack can not be unlocked later on.

Thanks for posting.

In my experience with Zipper as a developer, I interpret it as:

@asphaltOnline there are no plans for that YET - AT THE MOMENT the only way to get the pre-order packs is by pre-ordering the game

But that's just the pessimist in me.

Thanks for the "relevent" I've decided to stick with my plan of pre-ordering with amazon, but here's the catch. I'm also pre-ordering with gamestop (I was gonna get 2 copies because my friend wanted one for his birthday) This way I can play the game when it first comes out AND get my psycho pre-order ^.^

I always assumed the pre-order bonuses where going to be released as cheap dlc after the game came out cause on gamestop if they give you a bonus that is unlockable in the game they say "Early acess to_______ ", Also i think releasing it as dlc would be the best option and a way to make money.

Same here. I saved $10 on D2D and was planning on using that saved money for DLC, including other pro-order items.

"Yet" and "At the Moment" aren't the most reassuring words in the english dictionary.

We need a call on this.

They didn't actually use those words, I added them as I interpreted the message. But there's nothing to stop them omitting those elements when that's what they really mean.

Gonna stick with the Psycho pack on this one, I don't really see the appeal of the Doom/Fallout packs. They seem pretty half-assed.

I preordered the Spec Ops, I don't really want the Doom, or Fallout ones, just shirts, hats, and weapon skins.

The spec ops pack and psycho pack will be unlockable later in the game. That means that the items in those packs will not be "pre-order only" bonuses, but a way to get the items earlier... You may want to pre-order somewere else now...

Edit:

http://twitter.com/brinkgame/statuses/48106017497681920

According to the developers the pre-order items are "not unlockable in game" This may change in the future so I suggest holding off on the pre-orders until more information becomes available.

ROFL nice! A friend who removed me for accidently killing someone he wanted to stab in BFBC2 pre-ordered from BOTH Wal-Mart and Amazon just for the stupid pre-order gear, which is prob unlockable! Hahahahaa, svcker. And he bought Homefront too, ahahahahahaaaa!!!

Dude, stop spamming. There is a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1176067-brink-collectors-edition-unveiled/ about it and you are well aware of that.

I sure am, but it's getting way less attention than it should, so maybe I could make some Pre-Order Thread people to come over to the Collector's Edition Thread?

If it is bothersome, I'll stop :l

Appearance items I'm fine with being "unique" bonuses, but having guns and gun attachments as "exclusives" is curious, particularly when the other two Pre-orders only contain reskins for things in the game.

It gets no attention because nobody knows anything about that. The place to get answers is the EBgames support.

Bringing the same topic to another thread will only cause more confusion and repetition.
