Can two esp files be combined easily?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:34 am

I am now to the point where I need to start developing my worldspace for a chunk of my mod. The only thing, is I plan on remaking it, and tweaking it over and over, possibly from scratch each time, until I have gotten it right. Now since I also will be working on other aspects of the mod, I cannot simply restore a backup when I want to restart or something, as that would obviously undo other changes too. So I was thinking, could I make a separate esp, and make my worldspace and mess around with that, until I get it, then just combine that with my mods actual esp? I know Fo3Edit has a function something like this, but I havent a clue how to do it, and how well it works. Could I have my mods normal esp, then make just the worldspace, then combine the two esp without any conflicts or issues? Thanks for any answers.

Fantastic! This will make building the worldspace that much easier and stress free. Thanks. :)

Just a caveat here, while it's certainly possible to combine esps in theory, it doesn't always work out in practice. Sometimes something gets screwed up in the process. Make sure you back up the originals before you merge them together, just in case.
