It's a scripted event - it can't be avoided.

yea so far you can get past them but it stil trigerrs the cutscene

Yah one time just to make fun of it I stood at the doorway right before the cutscene for 4 days (in game) just assuming that Colonel Agustus Autumn and his men were sitting there playing cards in the other room then out of nowhere its like "Sir we finally got something!" Autumn "Good I was beginning to think he was on to us! Or he just wanted to finally leave this vault and go on to our base..."
