Holy items

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:12 am

I just did the first Fighters Guild quest, and got rid of a bunch of rats in a house. In the house I found a Holy Dagger, Holy Tome and Religious Item (looks like a staff). Should I keep these for some reason, or can I just sell them?

Who do you sell the holy tomes too? Neither the bookseller, nor the magic item shops wants to buy my tomes! :(

The pawn shop. You can sell almost everything there.

Tip : If you find/join the Dark Brotherhood, be sure to loot their guild hall. They usually have at least one holy dagger or one holy tome.
2500 free gold, who would spit on that? :D

BUT the fact that the game is so broken that you have to pawn something as valuable as a Holy Tome instead of selling it to a reputable book collector, wizened mage, or even donating it to a temple reminds me what's wrong with this picture.

Heh, game mechanics. :P
Holy Tomes can't be read, thus, they are not books.
Merchants have been mind-controlled to buy only items of the "type" they sell.

So Pawn Shops become rich at the detriment of the smaller, empty bookstores. ;)

EDIT : Why did you remove your post's content? I didn't find it offensive. It was funny actually.

I noticed I can't rob bookstores like I can do with the others. Somehow the guards find me doing that at 1 in the morning. Seems like an artificial restriction. I suppose I'd make a sick amount of cash if I could. Ended up making tens of thousands just by taking the books from general stores in one night.

I also get a kick out of how the rusty-relics pawnshops all hate my character but are still willing to pay far more than the regular value for those holy things. Instead of 2500 I get about 2750 for each.

Thanks for tip, I might do that. I sold it all and got over 2000 gold for it - so now I have a horse and a wagon - and still have a thousand gold left. :foodndrink:
