If Classes are gone, what is the need of stats?

Does everybody have the same zero stats for Strength, Intelligence, etc...and you build them up?

No information on this has been released yet. So we don't know.

Dude, classes were just names, there are still skills and attributes, really just why is everyone so worried about classes, we didn′t even really have classes in Morrowind and Oblivion, remove the names of the classes and they had just been characters.

Edit: To clarify there may be changes to stats and skills but then they are more changes to stats than classes, the class is just a name to define a character with certain skills, someone who levels all of his magic skills will still be a mage.

Will attributes be in.. or out? No one knows. Only time will tell.

I've never had a class. I'd rather make my own character my own way. I choose my own major/minor skills. This game will be do different. Just play your character as you wish and that is the character you will get. Your class is you.
This isn't D&D.

There's already an http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1160623-so-classes-are-gone-right/ about classes here on the first page. Please use that. :)
