Bosmer or Dunmer for this build?

I am currently about to run this build with either a Dunmer or a Bosmer. Both appeal to me, but I like the Dunmer a bit more from an aesthetics perspective and it seems that when I input the data for the Oblivion Character Planner, the Bosmer comes out two levels stronger, maxed luck without the thief sign, and 20 additional health compared to the Dunmer. Archery and stealth is a key aspect of the build I plan to play so a Bosmer would technically be the ideal choice if they looked cooler. Also, Disease Resistance is very appealing to me for the Bosmer. Yet, the Dunmer has 75% fire resistance. Plus, they get +10 in Blade and Destruction not to mention a +5 in Marksman and I plan to use all three in conjunction with one another to create a solid offense. I just can't make up my mind here:

Name: Adol (Dunmer) or Lenwe (Bosmer)
Race: Dunmer or Bosmer
Birthsign: Atronach
Specialization: Stealth
Attributes: Agility and Endurance
Skills: Marksman, Light Armor, Blade, Block, Destruction, Illusion, Conjuration

I decided to make sneak a minor skill so when I raise it up it won't effect my level and since I like to raise it very high at low levels to make assassinations easier. Plus, I find this build will level very efficiently.

Marksman, Blade, and Destruction will provide me with a very solid offensive character for FCOM, made even stronger with the boost in magicka being 200 as opposed to 150. Light armor and block is for protection while Illusion is for stealth and Conjuration is for support when things get heated. My leveling order in Oblivion Character Planner is Agility, Endurance, Luck, Strength, Intelligence, Speed, Willpower, and Personality.

Bosmer: +10 Marksman, +10 Sneak, +5 Light Armor. Starts with 50 Agility and Speed (Agility is used instead of Strength for Marksman damage, Speed should be obvious). Male is better than Female, as the Male has 30 Personality whereas the Female has 30 Endurance: Endurance governs Health, and Personality isn't nearly as important. Also gives and Alchemy and Acrobatics bonus. The only real downside is that both Males and Females start with low (30) Strength, meaning I can't carry as much. However, Bosmer have 75% Disease resistance, which is helpful.

Dunmer: +5 Marksman, +10 Destruction, +5 Light Armor and having +10 Blade/+5 Blunt for backup weapons isn't bad either. They too start with 50 Speed, but only 40 Agility, however they also start with an extra 10 Strength, allowing me to carry more. Summon Ancestor Guardian and 75% Resist Fire are also very helpful.

Gah! Can't make up my mind!

I started up with a Dunmer and I must say it′s a very good race. I have praised the resist fire so many times my calculator has given up on me now

Your choice of course, but my vote goes to the ashlander

Dunmer. It is my race of choice. I did just start a new Bosmer though (for a change of pace) so I might change that down the road.

You must surely pick based upon the image and look that you want, not silly stats. They can both kick some butt.

Buffy is my Bosmer and she is a very good one. She's very at home in the forest, but is good with a bow and magic as well (she won't touch a melee weapon). She doesn't know too many Dunmer well, but recently met a delightul and wise Dunmer named Lothran (he travels with mirocu), who lives in Bruma and they have become friends. He tells Buffy that his race is known for their versatility and ability to learn many skills well. Indeed, Lothran not only knows how to cast spells well, but he is also good with a bow and even swords! Of course, he is a little older than Buffy too, so he has had more time to hone those skills.

One nice thing about either of our races is that we live like, forreevveerr. :twirl: (Well, if no one kills us that is.)

Dunmer because of the 75 % Fire Resistance and the extra skill bonuses that the dark elf gets over the Wood Elf.

I will always say "Dunmer", as they're my favourite race. But pick whichever works best for you, as wise Acadian said.

Agreed, even though that 75% resist fire helped my decision
Buffy is my Bosmer and she is a very good one.

Wasn′t it Daenlin who said that a Bosmer′s size makes them smaller targets? That′s a good thing I′d say :)

I would go with the dunmer race on this one. Nice little bonus to both blade, light armor, destruction and marksman. The 75% resist fire is also very good.
