Answer this question for yourself people. Would you rather buy The Elder Scrolls V on the last few months of a worn console, or buy Elder Scrolls V on a new console with better everything that will last years to come.

edit: This only implies that 2013 is the release of the next generation consoles.

I'm not taking sides but I have to say this: if TES: is released in 2012, then why not 2013 with the next generation's supposed release date. I mean, more development time = better game overall. They might be reworking their engine to get ready for the next generation.

What are they going to do for the extra year?eliminate all bugs for the first time ever?hopefully something useful.

They wouldn't know what the specs are so they wouldn't have a better everything.

I'd rather have it at the end of a generation, simply because most games at the start of a new generation are terribly optimized. IDK if that would affect me, because I play on the PC, but it wouldn't be fair to those on consoles.

Carefully re-read my last post. It's really not as simple as you're making out. A 'better everything that will last years to come' requires that Bethesda waits until the next-gen is announced and its hardware limits revealed before creating a new engine for it. Otherwise we get a similar sub-par engine that Oblivion and the Fallout games ran on for the next-gen as well. No thanks, I'd rather be patient and reap the greater rewards for the next-gen.

Well if TES: V is released for the next generation. The profits would be greater long-term because people would slowly convert to the new generation and stop playing with the previous generation. It all depends when the next generation is released though.
