Windows 7 GOTY help

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:21 pm

Hello, fellow F3 fans.

I'm recieving Fallout 3 GOTY edition for PC in a day or two. I'm wondering how to install it with Windows 7.

I have a Raedon 5770 graphics card and my computer can run just about any game out there on close-to-max settings.

I also have Steam with several other FPS's and New Vegas installed.

How can I make the game run smoothly with the OS, Steam, and graphics card at the highest availible settings?

Thanks for the help,

Ronarch

Installing it is much like any other game. Pop the first disk in and run the setup for it. (When choosing where to install, it is recommended that you dont choose the default location due to UAC protection settings) For the second disk you might have to run it in safemode to get it to install quickly since its just a 2GB executable file.

Thanks for the information.

What are UAC protection settings, though?

I've never encountered them before on my PC.

Chances are you have encountered them before (unless you disabled it already).

UAC is the User Account Control settings in Windows. It asks the user permission whenever you run a program. (Which can become annoying by itself, but especially when you start adding mods into the game)
