I wonder how the main character starts out this time? A prison ship (Morrowind) or a jail cell (Oblivion)? or just a farmboy who leaves home? Any guesses or do we already know?
PS: Of all places I would have thought that Morrowind wouldn't be tagged as a misspelling!
You will start off as a prisoner, but where you actually start is unknown. It could be a prison cell, it could be a ship, it could even be a POW camp. Who knows.
Although the prison start would go along with nearly all of the other elder scrolls games, the fact that the player has a mentor seems to suggest that Skyrim will be different. I think that the game will start in your mentor's house for the character gen, and then he sends you to the starting dungeon, where you find something to begin the main quest. You could also start at the house, but a dragon attacks and your mentor is mortally wounded after killing the beast.
I think it would be cool if u start out as a prisoner of war, and the side thats holding you is losing a battle so they release u and tell you to fight for them or they'll kill you. Now this is the Elder Scrolls, so you can choose to do what you want, kill the guards and leave, fight for them in the battle, orrr kill them and fight for the other side...

You're starting off as a prisoner. I'm thinking maybe Esberon (your mentor) and some of his Blade buddies learning of your existence and whereabouts and raid wherever you're being held to free you. Then he takes you back to his hideout to mentor you.
Anything more, less, or different than "prison" is either pure speculation or [censored] false. I'm sorry that the rest of you can't keep up with the small amount of information we have so far.

My guess is that we are in a caravam being transported to a city in the begining and the caravan gets attacked by a dragon giving us the knowledge of being a dragonborn and one of the guards points us to the Greybeards as a way of starting the Main Quest

Not true, actually. According to GI you start as a prisoner. It made no mention of prison itself. So there's no telling where or how you are being held.

Probably start with a conversation with a Dunmer.Dragon then attacks.Guard frees you and offers freedom if you help.Asks what can you do to help(Select a skill)run outside to find the dragon near death.Kill it gain first shout.Esbern who was aiding in the defense thinks to himself that was neat and you might be handy to have around and offers you his services.
I think it would be interesting if you started in a labor camp.
With mining and such now being things you can do, I could see that happening.
It would be kinda cool being chained up to other prisoners being walked from one town to another and they get attacked by bandits and the guards free you to "help" them but you can chose to either help them, the bandits, or kill them all.
I assume prisoner of the Main Quest is usually what they referring, which make sense in all the previous installment. If any intro I would want it to use, it would be the following:
a: Arrive from a traveling boat b: Waking up an Inn c: Being Ship Wreak and getting out of there d: Traveling with a Caravan e: Waking up in the wilderness/cave
