The Hammer of Kings is a repair hammer that never runs out of uses but instead consumes gold pieces from your inventory whenever you use it to repair your equipment. One use of the hammer costs 3 drakes. If you use the hammer without sufficient funds, it may become damaged. Other than its nondepletable nature, the Hammer of Kings functions exactly like any other repair hammer.

Intro:

The tribal Redguards of Hammerfell often tell their young the legend of Gelden, the Hammer of Kings. It is said that the hammer was forged back in the ancient homeland, and its power was so great that one man could reforge all the weapons of all the Redguard tribes with it and not a single dent would be seen on it afterwards.

But the legends also mention that the Hammer of Kings consumes gold on each strike. According to these tales, the first strike of the hammer melts the gold, the second one fills it into the dent or hole, and the third one forms it into metal harder than steel.

A popular Redguard tale tells the story of an unjust king who had come into possession of the fabled hammer. He wanted to use it to forge an army of invincible warriors, but his greed made him use its powers recklessly. The Hammer of Kings took a portion of his rule with each strike, and soon the tyrant's plans had come to nothing. He was forced to live the rest of his life as a beggar.

Readme:

The imperial blacksmith Sirollus Saccus at Fort Hawkmoth has recently acquired a
mysterious artifact known as the Hammer of Kings. It is unknown whether this is the
actual fabled hammer of the tribal Redguards or an enchanted replica.

The hammer can repair any amount of weapons and armor as long as the necessary
amount of gold is provided for the repairs. One repair attempt costs 3 gold.

Don't worry about the hammer running out of uses, it will be replaced.

If you use the hammer without enough gold in your inventory, it will become damaged
and will need to be repaired before it can be used again.

Sirollus Saccus has the hammer for sale for 5000 Septims.

Requirements:

- Morrowind + at least one expansion set

Version History:

the Hammer of Kings in their inventory, which could cause a number of errors.

Feedback is appreciated. :)

Thanks, I hope you'll like it! :) I've done some excessive testing with every single scenario I could think of, but if you do encounter any bugs or issues, please let me know.

I'm necromancing this mod to submit an update. The initial release had an issue that I didn't see coming, that the hammer would sometimes replenish at the vendor and so you could acquire more then one of them. And that could lead to a number of bugs.

In version 1.1, I've added functionality that circumvents the above issue. You can still obtain multiple copies of the hammer, but when you try to use them the game will tell you that the copy you have just obtained is a fake one and it falls apart. I know that sounds cruel but it's pretty cool in action.

You can grab v1.1 from http://adul.net/?p=dl_mwmods_hammer_of_kings. If you're updating from v1.0 then cleaning your save first is probably a good idea.
