hardcoe Parkour

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 11:21 am

I would like everyone to put in everything they know about the SMART parkour in Brink.
Also i heard SMART will be mapped on the sprint button, i would like someone to prove this right or wrong.
I would also like to know the entire controller layout if someone knows that, and if you will be able to change the controller layout.

^^ This. Also, I read somewhere they have multiple layouts based similar to popular games. Ex: They have one similar to COD layout for Cod players.

If I recall, the SMART button is L1/LB by default control. I believe it was in some video that the speaker mentioned using the Left Bumper to use SMART as opposed to jumping with the A button to manually parkour.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Gracias, Mr. Bean.

Considering that there will apparently be controls similar to Call of Duty, I'm sure Splamage is gonna offer some way to SMART with less digits doing work.

Kinda wonder how you SMART with the Green Marine Chief layout, since Halo has never had a sprint button. Closest is the ability button from Reach, which will just be LB, anyway.

LB, L1, and Shift all need to be SMART button. I don't like it when games change the control to move and turn in a FPS.

On a side note, probably the reason I prefer PC over being with friends is not as much as aim, as softaim is considerably smart, and the only thing I can't do as well is CQC. The thing I absolutely adore is switching weapons with the number keys, because most console games where you hold more than 2 weapons usually have you press the pad (The wonderful exception where people should take notice is in Red Faction, where you hold a bumper and press the face buttons and Red Dead Redemption where it does the same with the stick). I am able to do great things swapping out weapons. In Bad Company, I used to shoot a grenade at a wall and switch to my gun all while running in one swift motion, giving me the perfect assault situation. I was greatly disappointed when Bad Company 2 ditched this, giving me more reason to choose the PC version.

This game shouldn't have this problem with having two weapons. However, it would be stupid if the control schemes based on games that have you switch with the pad remained that way. Shouldn't break my rhythm.

You can pick a controller layout like that but im still gonna go with the CoD layout that has smart as sprint on the left stick. And most fps games do not use the d-pad to switch weapons, most fps games use triangle or Y like CoD.(CoD, some Battlefields, Section 8, blacklight, MoH, ect.) Also i find PC fps gaming way more difficult then 360 or PS3, the main genre i see PC being better at are rpgs and mmos(though those are still fun on console)

LoL You realize that a mouse and keyboard has much more precision and control than a gamepad and that consoles have autoaim? Also that consoles have about 50% if that of the graphic capability of a high end PC.
Its all about what you are used to. Consoles are just for gaming so its easy to jump right into. Pc Games is general have more depth and control. A high end PC gaming PC is also much more expensive.
All new FPS features almost always come to PC first and with PC you typically have more features and customization.. Like I said its personal preference but a keyboard will always have more buttons than a gamepad.
Its really nice in brink that you can customize your layout and button configs.
