Do creatures have inherent AR?

As creatures don't wear armor, how is thier AR calculated? Are the tougher "bullet sponge" type creatures tougher because they have a higher AR somehow than thier non-sponge counterparts, or is that why they have insanely high amounts of hit points?

Hmmm. I would assume that they dont, since if there was a way to give them AP, you should be able to find it somewhere. I would say they just have alot of health, and no AP at all. Why make them take 10% less damage, when you can just give them 10% more health, right?

That what I thought too, until just a little while ago. I was play testing my armor piercing rounds mod and noted that some creatures reacted very well to them. It turns out that I'm also using FWE which add the Toughness perks to some creature. I guess that one way of doing it.

Thanks for the response Gunmaster.

I always assumed that creatures don't have AR. I have been giving my creatures perks and increased health to compensate, as is the case with FWE. I have wondered if there is some inherent AR with a creature's texture though. Not knowing enough about how nif and textures work, I have no real idea. But, for example, some ghouls have an armored texture versus others. Perhaps there is an associated material's AR within the nifs of these creatures. Just a thought...

No, texture/model does not affect AR.
AR can be added to creatures using abilities that have Increase Damage Resistance, that's about it. I believe Fawkes has some.

3T is correct creatures have 0 AR naturally -> but also remember that creaturs are bugged and will recieve 2x the amount of AR you give them in an ability which is why Fawkes is so damn impossible to kill because he was given a 50 AR ability and that in game gets twisted into 100 AR, which makes him tough to kill with traditional arms but energy/elemental weapons tear through him.

I did not know that. That information will be useful in rebalancing the damage settings.

Thanks
