So I'm Trying to Make Nuka-Cola

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 2:56 pm

As I said, I'm really trying to make Nuka Cola, possibly Quantum, but the issue I'm having is that I can't seem to remove the labels from the glass bottle.
I've tried boiling it in tap water, which I thought for sure would work-but that was to no avail.
I was wondering if anyone could help me on this little project of mine by giving me some ideas for removing the label that wouldn't require hours of scraping or some ridiculous chemicals.

My solution would probably just be to paint over the label and then re-print the Nuka-Cola label on it.

It looks like that will be pretty helpful.
However, I'm not too close to Mexico and don't have access to those kinds of bottles.
I MAY be able to find one somewhere from one of my last trips to Ciudad Juarez, but it's not likely.
I'm using a Barg's root beer glass bottle I found that has a very vintage look to it.
This is a picture of it here:

I like it, because I think it even looks the part of the Nuka Cola bottles that were given out during E3 '08.

I found the bottles at a local mexican store.
And I finished my Quantum and I love it!

Well....I'm gonna re-size my labels because they're a tad too big, and I'm gonna scratch off all the old Coca Cola labels underneath because they shine through when I turn the light on...BUT, for now it looks great.
Next up, regular Nuka Cola. Then, I'll probably move on to Sugar Bombs or something fun.

Thanks guy!

I'll definitely post some pictures when I get the chance.
I just got done scratching off all the original Coca Cola labels, so the bottle is completely naked at the moment.
I won't be able to put any new labels until I get access to a printer with colored ink-which should be tomorrow at my home church-so by Wednesday evening I should be finished and I'll post some pictures then.

Hey we will look forward to it thats for sure.

A few years back I picked up 4 collector mugs from a nation wide fast food chain ahem (Lord of the rings glasses if you must know heheh) and though they were well rather unspectacular I thought each mug did come with a little plastic disk deal that snaps on the bottom of the mugs with a light inside that glowed difrrent colors. And now i am thinking if I can get someone who can freehand or paint me a label even just colored water in a bottle might look awful cool.

I've looked at Quantum bottles on ebay that light up, way cool. I found 2 old shorter Coka Cola bottles last weekend in our woods. They're perfect except, instead of labels, the insignia is molded into the bottle. :(
