How to change the combat style of an Npc?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 9:09 am

Recently I've been trying to change the combat style of a Brotherhood of steel knight to that of an Enclave soldier. Whenever I'm in traits all I see is a drop down menu of the combat styles. So far I've tried basically all of them yet it's not same as the Enclave. Where do I change the variables for the change his chances of direct hits and the chance to dodge? I've read the "combat style" page on the website but I can't find where to do that.

You could just check out the Enclave troopers to see what their combat style is, then use that one? Bear in mind behaviour will be influenced by the weapon used, skills, attributes and size of their squad- not just combat style.

In the Geck on the left under 'Miscellaneous', there's a 'Combat Style' category. Select that and all the combat styles will be in the right window. If you want to change just one NPC, you can make you own CS. It's easy if you just copy an existing one, then make your changes, Then assign it to your NPC. Another place you want to assign it to are the AI packages that the NPC is using - but be careful here if the packages are shared amongst a group.
And like TheTalkieToaster said, these settings are just one factor in the way an NPC determines behaviour, so keep that in mind if you make a change and it doesn't appear to be working!

All it says is default :cryvaultboy: And I made it so that the energy weapons and all the attributes are the same. Still no luck.

I used this but all I can do now is change his dodge and how fast he fires. 1 vs 1 The dude rarely hits the enclave guy. How would I use the traits from the Enclave guy and export it into the BoS guy?

EDIT: Nvm, I edited some stuff and now he's owning. 1 vs 2 and he still wins. Thanks guys.
