Overview regeneration?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 2:04 pm

Hello,
I am working with quite a large heightmap, and I am trying to regenerate a new overview, about ten minutes ago I started regenerating it, and I have not gotten a status bar or loading window, is this common?

The size if the heightmap is about 9x7 quads, is this why it is taking so long?

When you're messing with heightmaps or LOD it can take hours to do things- bear in mind Beth made the Editor to be run on top-of-the-line superfast rigs with 1 quadrillion petawatts of RAM by people with up to eight work hours to spend waiting.

The best indicator I've found is to actually minimize the overview window once you've started the process. Because the editor will be busy, the window shouldn't actually minimize until the regenerate overview process is completed.
