[REQ] Fluffy Khajiit tail

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 2:11 pm

I was wondering if there were any short, fluffy Khajiit tails out there. I did try looking and haven't found one myself. I don't frequent every modding site on the planet, however, and was hoping maybe there was some obscure resource that I missed. If not...can I pester the modelers out there to make me one? :poke:

I've gotten it into my brain that I absolutely must have a sabertoothed Khajiit character. All the talk of Skyrim has only made it worse. I've even http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1157099-saber-toothed-khajiit, and I swore I wouldn't mod Oblivion.

LOLright it ended up just like my Morrowind game: "Did you finish the main quest?" ... "Finish? I didn't even start!" :obliviongate:

I figured I may have more luck here. I at least have a head to use for Morrowind. I just need a tail. I'd make the damn thing myself but I have no idea how to model anything from scratch, especially not skinned meshes.

Something like http://bloodhound-omega.deviantart.com/art/Homotherium-Latidens-159907359, perhaps? Please? :cookie:

Mod for Oblivion with fluffy tail ;) => "AlienSlof's Leopard Race"

I've actually played around with that race! It's very nice, and I do like the tail. I was hoping for a shorter one though. And I'd still need a set of teeth. :(

Eh. Looks like I'll get 3/4ths of what I want over two different games.

If you do ever find a mod that adds puffy tails I'd be interested in it. :) Especially if its as long as Slof's Oblivion ones.

there is a fox race with a fluffy tail. and westley did a sabre tooth lookin khajiit race. s if you retex the fox body to match you would have it. if you can't do it yourself. ya might be able to convince westley to.

You mean the http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2304? Unfortunately it's not quite what I was looking for.

westley did a sabre tooth lookin khajiit race.

He did? I looked around and didn't see one. I don't suppose you have a link, do you?

Hmm, don't mog's have short tails? I could just be misremembering though. Also, no harm in just sending Westly a pm and asking him directly, I know I'd love a nice long Khajiit tail that works with Liztail/shon's Beast bodies for my favorite Khajiit. He's going to get a fluffy tail in Oblivion and probably Skyrim so he might as well have one now.

You're right. They do. I might be able to use it if I fiddle with the scale. I even had the Mog*Mod on my Morrowind install already. It's not perfect but perhaps I can get it to look decent.

Edit: Nope. Mog tail didn't work. Ended up looking more like an Argonian tail than anything.

You would probably have to ask LizTail for that one. The tail on his beast bodies connects at a different point than the vanilla Khajiit tail does, from what I remember.

I think it would be pretty cool to have the Khajiit's tail only be fluffy on the very tip of it, making it look like it had mange or something like that.

Remind me to not try and be clever.

I had an idea, and that was screwing around with the placement/scale of the tail bones. Looks good in NifSkope but doesn't show up that way in-game. I suppose I'd have to modify the animations if I wanted to do it that way but I can't for the life of me remember how you add custom animations to the player. Seems like more trouble than it's worth. :brokencomputer:

It should be quite easy to chop the end of the tail off with blender and just use that.

And I'd still need a set of teeth.

A set of teeth isn't hard to model. Do you have a head in mind?

For Morrowind or Oblivion? I can use the vampire head for Morrowind, that already has a set of long teeth.

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood. I thought you required a set of teeth modelling for a head. Whether from Morrowind, Oblivion or Blender, the final result would be for Morrowind, no?

Oh. It was late and I was sleep deprived. I thought that was what you meant, but I wasn't sure at the time. I don't need a head model, just a tail. And yes, for Morrowind.

I need to stop posting at four in the morning.

I think what he's looking for is something with an alpha mapped layers of 'fluffy' fur, not a solid mesh. At least that's the impression I got from the pics of Slof's Leopards  A mesh like that mesh doesn't currently exist in Morrowind afaik someone would have to build it.

Actually, a solid mesh would be fine. I'm just insanely picky is all.
