Anatomy of a....Vampire

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:31 pm

So, I've been getting back into the forums lately and decided that it's time for a new Anatomy poll (seeing as I created the original one).

Some people despise them, some relish the power and some just straddle the line - Vampires. They sure as hell ain't shiny and romantic in Cyrodiil though, as Vampirism is very much a disease - but one that brings great power to the holder, at a price that is.

So, I want to get inside the heads of all you vamps out there - because I know you're out there. Your eyes give it away...

PS. If you NEVER become a vampire, ignore the poll and just post anyway. thanks. :D

I'm big into roleplaying in Oblivion and TES in general. I have one over-hanging character that has been a part of all of the games I've played and will continue into Skyrim. That character is a vampire, and--according to the lore I made up for her--has been around since the Second Era.

When I made her on Oblivion, I got infected right away, since, obviously, she's supposed to have been a vampire long before the events of the game happen. I typically keep at the "Weak" category, feeding often to blend in with the rest of society without anyone knowing of her dark gift. She feeds on pretty much anyone convenient, though prefers the blood of nobles and the healthiest of people, though has no qualms about feeding on a beggar just to preserve her appearance. I have no plan on getting her cured. Ever. Why get rid of immortality?

Well, as the original poster, I'd thought I'd pitch and say: I don't ever make a vampire character, from scratch with the deliberate goal of getting bitten but often stick with the disease if I do get bitten. I go around the medium level, just enough sun damage to warrant moving around at night (which for RP purposes I avoid at all costs) and also just enough boosted skills to feel like a real bad-ass when I break into random cottages halfway between anvil and chorrol just to bite some poor guys neck.

That said, one of my goals (unfufilled) is to bite the neck of a count/countess....but castles are well defended so I might need to be a full Vampire to pull it off!

I myself with some of my characters start of becoming a vampire right off the bat and then playing as a vampire. I usually feed on sleeping beggers but generally its just anyone who is asleep that I come across. I usually stay a vampire for about 6 months to a year (In game time) then it can get a bit wearing so I do the vampire cure quest to cure myself. I always keep myself weak because I don't like getting caught in the sunlight and burning.
