The next Fable game

"People always enjoy a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day."

To me Ma'iq=Bethesda trolling it's own fanbase, not that I don't think that's a good thing

Lionhead would never release control of the series.

I really enjoyed the original fable and 2 was ok. I've yet to find fable 3 for cheaps yet.

Also I hate body morphing.

Morphing is almost non-existent in fable 3, you don't get huge or super tall. Your alignment only changes your eyes and skin color. Horns and wings only during flourishes in end-game.

Well, I liked the original and the sequels I haven't bought. The reviews always put me off. Angry Joe from Blistered thumbs gave something like 30+ reasons why fable 3 was bad. Yahtzee also didn't give a positive review, which he can actually do if the game is good. If Fable 4 gets good reviews Ill get it if not I won't.

M'aiq may troll the fan-base, but if he weren't in the games, I'd be a little heart-broken.

Fable I: Amazing.
Fable II: Pretty good.
Fable III: So this is what they did? I don't even have an expression wheel anymore...

Fable 1 - Fantastic
Fable 2 - Awesome
Fable 3 - Short, but extremely satisfying.

I saw somewhere in an interview where Peter said he wanted the series to go up to a number five. I hope that Fable 4 goes more into the industrial age, and has a steampunk theme. But that's just me.

I hope the last Fable (5?) ends with you dying as the very last hero.

I didnt like thetechnology moving foreward. I had hoped in 3 the spire would be used to undo everything and set the world back.
I still think it will go back, but not due to the spire. Assuming they tie up loose ends e.g sythe and te queen of blades.
I wont oick up future games, but I may read the plot.

I still like Fable. It might not be as good as TES, but it is still very fun, especially with 2 people playing at once.
Thank whoever-is-up-there that they didn't bring back the suspicious potion in Castle Fairfax back though. Fable 3 really likes to remind me that I drunk it and didn't back up my save beforehand...

Whats put me off fable forever is...

1) A non open world rpg still trying to compete with the likes of oblivion.

basically when it comes to RPG's... you'd better make it open world or I aint gonna care too much.

2) the dog. I really dont want a dog.. if they dont give you the choice then its a fail from our judges.

3) the twinkly breadcrumb thing.... a good rpg is immersive. I want to find things on my own, not follow magic breadcrumbs.

4) romance. romance/marriage is the worst thing to happen to gaming since battletoads on the NES.

I forgot how to be an rpg it needed to be on open world. *rolls eyes* Well I guess I can take dragon age, mass effect and jrpgs off the list.

Fable was never competing with oblivion.

Also no use having an open world when there isnt anything in it, so yeah, oblivion was bad. They improved it in fallout. But really an open world needs interestng places, or it fails. For example MC has a huge world, 8x the size of earth, but I would rather play Fallout NVs world with things to do than a big world with nothing.

I've defended Fable since it came out, I loved the first one, and while the second one was good in my opinion, it felt like it was missing something. Fable 3 was just garbage though, ridiculously easy, boring missions, lame sidequests, and one of the shortest stories in gaming history! I'm guessing the fourth one will be even worse.

I think they need a massive revamp with the fable series. I don't like the current direction they are taking it in. I am playing Fable III right now actually. It feels like a massive Fable 2 expansion that has been even more simplified. I hate having to dance with every guy just to get their approval. Also everyone in Bowerstone hates me because i had the rent high for like 10 minutes when i was really poor. That pisses me off that i have to do a quest for every single person just to get them back to a neutral standpoint. Now i have rent low and own every single house in bowerstone and everyone still hates me? Geez, do the people in Albion just expect everything to be practically free?

Fable III, its bumming me out. :cryvaultboy: yet i still kind of enjoy it.

Expect cars, planes and trains in Fable IV.

I enjoyed Fable III much more than Fable 2. I think the whole transforming/evolving weapons was brilliant. I did not, however, enjoy the fact that all of your weapons would evolve as you upgraded your melee or marksman, despite you only using a specific weapon. The fact that collecting them also relied on multiplayer made it like a diablo style trading frenzy, minus all the replay value...so it fell short there as well.

Fable 1 had such cool armors -- there was something very harsh about the world the people of Albion were living in as well. It seems as if the world has become brighter with humorous undertones. Mourningwood? Comon.

The next Fable game should not be a sequel. It should either take place before Fable 1 or between 1 and 2...like a Halo ODST of sorts.

The game at this point is more along the lines of history than a fable.

ill them, kill them all. I would give you as much money as you want if you can give me some of the weapons for that damn achivement (I 100% fable 2, I feel I need to do it in 3).

I doubt it, I ca see fable going back, the original Archon never killed the queen of blades, and they pretty much wasted albion, until the Archon killed the king and stole Jacks sword. Also The spire in 3 may be damaged, but I think it could easily be rebuilt, then used as a reset button. And fable 3 left some loose ends...

I honestly believe that Fable games are a great premise to base a series around, but the games themselves all fall short.

It has become more like god of war recently, and less like an RPG.

But i would like them too see them bring back a ton of old spells as well, it seems all the spells are all the same, but with different appearances.

I didn't really care for the newest fable game it disappointed me, i don't really like the idea of gauntlets to channel the spells.

To Lionhead:

Stop streamlining Fable, it was never complicated in any way. Stop with the terrible "DLC" that was already on the disk. Stop saying you are going to revolutionize gaming, you haven't even grasped the current field yet. Thank you.

Fable 1 -
Fable 2 -
Fable 3 -

The removal of menus was easily the stupidest idea they've ever had. What cornerstone of RPGs will they remove next? Quests? The Storyline? Perhaps the next game should just be a still of Peter Molyneux bathing in a tub of our money and laughing uproariously at our collective gullibility.
