Will better NPC AI translate into combat AI?

Just wondering, been a lot of talk about the radiant AI for better NPC behavior and such... Will this translate into better combat AI as well? Cause lets face it, the Fallout 3/New Vegas and Oblivion combat AI was pretty terrible and easily exploitable.

It will probably be a different set of AI but I am sure that they will make the AI all around awesome.

Well combat AI will of course approved. Combat AI is usually more easy to do than friendly AI.

The NPC AI most likely has nothing to do with the combat AI.

Realistically, I expect the combat AI will be better but I'm not expecting it to be hard to exploit.

Well the NPC AI is going to influence their reaction to violence, murder in public will result in lots of civilians running away not engaging you in hand to hand while you're hacking away with the super powerful sword of dark doom or whatever. So more realistic combat/violence reactions in the NPC AI will influence and make the combat AI a bit more realistic.

I'll settle for ranged enemies (e.g., mages, archers) being smarter about taking cover. :)
