It is a bit 19th century to have animals in circuses and zoos. We have 'wildlife parks' and TV now. The former does a much better job of simulating a natural environment for the animals and is critical to the preservation efforts for some species, while the latter does not interfere with the natural order of things at all. It's time the people of the world got over their fascination with big cats. They're not a mystery any more, and there are some documentaries out there that do a much better job of portraying them.
I'm not saying the circus acts and zoos are necessarily cruel (although they often are). Just that they're outdated.
