Twisted Metal

I had tons of fun playing this game on the PS1 with a buddy of mine. We would link up both our PS1's and battle for hours playing Twisted Metal. I'm going to say somewhere around 2000-2001 we stopped playing it so its been a while for me. I hope this new one reaches the 360. Will it be only on the PS?

Probably.

Sorry

I wounder what characters there bringing back?

Im actually getting a little tired of the old character line-up they have been using since the first games.

i mean, i dont mind if they keep some of the classics Like, Sweetooth,Mr.Grim,Yellow Jacket. I really want too see some new characters and vehicles.

Black had a bunch of new characters, and it was the first game since TM3 that Jaffe worked on IIRC. Hopefully they'll think up some new characters for the new game.

My friend and I used to play on the "hidden" or "unlockable" map in TM2...I think it was called suburbs? Pretty much the best map of any car combat game. My favorite driver was Spectre...surprised no one else mentioned him...I think he was the fastest besides Twister. Also, Warthog's special attack was OP....FREEZE AND DAMAGE??!??!?! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!??

Edit: I may have been thinking of Minion's special....Warthog has the 3 missiles I think

Twisted Metal 4 got a pretty bad rating but I don't understand why. Its my fav out of the series. Overall TM2 is the best in the series. I never played Black because I didn't know of it being a twisted metal.. Can't wait for that online mutliplayer mayhem!

He shoots a homing missile that goes through walls. He drove the white corvette looking thing. I think the purple things were from....the undertaker guy.....He drove a hearse.

Yep. Warthog have 3 missiles of red, white, and blue, while Minion's is Freeze with 3 missiles.

Twisted Metal 4 got a pretty bad rating but I don't understand why. Its my fav out of the series.

Gameplay is alright, but I think its combination of horrible characters choices and stories. Character-wise, they presented many uninspired/silly characters into the mix (for example Pizza Boy, the Joneses, Drag Queen, Trashman, etc) and revised 2 "veterans" that would piss off any Twisted Metal Veterans (Warthog lack the Missile special and Grimm is freaken pirate and not the Grim Reaper). Story-wise, many of the character's wish is short and silly and lost a bit "dark" humor when it was shown. Then there the part that all the power Calypso once have came from a ring and not from demonic origin, in which the said ring was taken by Sweet Tooth and he control the tournament. Ya.

Ohh, I loved the dark gritty cutscenes in Twisted Metal Black, I wish I had a PS3, this is a old favorite, played all of them on my ps2 as a kid.

I was more of a Vigilante 8 fan myself. Still hoping for a sequel to Second Offense some day.
