I am in the process of creating an animated staff for my mod House of Cards. ATM, the staff is still in WIP form because I have not yet added the rest of the staff to make it complete. I have done this all by hand so if it seems to be not as smooth as it should be remember, this is my first real animation done by hand. Here is what I have so far:

I will manage to make more animated staves whenever I get the chance to. I'm a mage after all in-game, so why not make something for mages.

I think it looks already pretty good, if you can increase the smoothness a little, it will be perfect

Try replaying it again once you have watched it the first time to actually see the smoothness of the animation.

Don′t know what you mean, i just have the impression that the "balls" are changing their speed, the ball that comes towards the camera is fast, then slower, then faster again (judging from the last vid you uploaded). Maybe that′s intended? I guess it doesn′t matter, as this will not be the main focus when you play with this staff and it probably will be barely noticeable.

I like it! Animated weapons are always more fun, and I historically have had a fondness for particle effects.
