Is there a level cap for single player so that you can't just grind to lvl7 in that?

the only lvl cap i heard of its for all modes its 20

plus they make it a point that all you earn is transferable across all modes so i doubt there is a lvl cap

So playing songle play has it's advantages e.g. lvling, learning the layout of the game, and a training manual.
am i wrong in saying any of that?

your right, you can learn the game without having to worry bout actually players dying cause ya dont know the controls

to be honest im getting the game at midnight (eastern timezone) so im an hour ahead of other timezones
that hour im spending going to singleplayer to learn the controls til enough friends get on with the game to play co-op

This is just plain wrong.

A heavy medic is very useful. A heavy engineer is very useful. Even a heavy operative is useful.

Yup. I would love to try out the different body types for Medic class, because each body type has pros and cons and thus different gamestyles
and I would love to experiment with that. ^_^

Like others said, I think they put Light for last so that people will get used to the controls and the health that Med. and Heavy have, so when
they get to the Light, then they might be surprised at how much less life the Light has and how much harder it is control the Light if you don't know the controls, etc. :)

Freakin sweet! That means I will NEVER stop levelling!
To be honest, lack of trial period and individual size clothes is fine by me. Brink is far more of an RPG than I realised.

My very first char will be Light Soldier i understand why they did it from there standpoint

but to have the bodytypes not unlock at the same level seems unbalanced you get one extreme but not the other

Well, it's not imbalanced, because everyone is grouped into level blocks. It's kinda crap that we have to get to almost half way to use the lights, though

Hahaha, it's probably because of that sort of mentality that they implemented it this way in the first place. This way you're forced to play as Medium for a while, and it makes it much more likely that people will try a Heavy guy, when otherwise they might have just gone Light and never given the other bodytypes a fair chance.

Good call SD, good call.

Its really not that bad. If you think of the level curve from Guild Wars, level 7 came very easily. Tbh, if you were fast enough, you could hit level 7 in 30min or less. If you were hardcoe like me, and picked up all the quest in the Factions Main Town... you would hit level 20 (the cap) in less then 6 hours (granted the end curve starts at 13-14 usually, right when you're able to pick up said quests). Ive done it in 3 hours. (The end game is not when you hit 20)

Brink's leveling curve shouldn't be as easy as this, since its pretty much fixed. In GuildWars you could pick up a bunch of quests, complete them all, then turn them all in at once kinda thing just like WoW or most other MMOs.

But at the same time, it shouldn't be so unforgiving. If you want to change your abilities, you go down an enitire level. If it takes days to get a level (coughcoughcallofdutycough), it'll be so much harder to respec. It should be relatively easy to level up until, say, level 15. I'd imagine at level 15, you have a concrete idea of what your character is going to be, and you should be punished accordingly for not maing up your mind by then.

I doubt it will, but at the same time, it does, because it gives you more of a reason to pay attention to exactly what you're doing with your characters. No wonder theres so many character slots?

You'll reach level 15 by playing through both campaigns, approximately.

And one campaign is 9 maps á 20-30min, I guess.
