Modding prisoner help

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 2:57 pm

Hi to all modders. I need help, because i am new with construction set. I play vampire type character. And also i use official Oblivion plugin called Deepscorn Hollow. As we all know, Deepscorn Hollow has a cattle cell for vampires to feed, inside it there is a prisoner locked in an eternal slumber who cannot move and is just food. And i want to add this prisoner to like abandoned house in Cheydinhal, where dark brotherhood is.

So i have these questions:
1. This prisoner lies in a bed. With construction set i found a similar bed and dragged it to the place in the house.
2. Then goes the hard part for me  The prisoner. I found it in the construction set. Can i just drag him to the cell where the bed is, or i need somehow edit his ID, that it would not be the same as original one?
3. I dragged the prisoner on the bed, i know that he has a script with eternal slumber. But in the construction set he is standing on the bed. Is there a possibility to make him lie on it? Because i need him to lie exactly on this bed.

1. Where's the question? That sounds fine, although I doubt it needs to be the same bed.
2. You'd probably need to edit his ID so he sleeps in the right bed instead of going to Deepscorn Hollow to sleep there. Rename his ID, open his AI packages and find the one where he sleeps (probably the only one). You'll need to change the target to the bed you've placed, then close and choose yes on the dialogue box that asks if you want to create a new form.
3. It doesn't matter what he's doing in the CS, as soon as you start the game he will lie down in his bed. It would probably be best to place him next to the bed instead of on top of it.

You may want to ask these questions in the Construction Set forum next door.

Ok, did that:

This action creates a NPC with the ID i choose, then i drag him near the bed. But when i reviewed the Deepscorn Hollow prisoner AI package - his target also changed to the one i selected. Why? I edited only my NPC AI package.

Did you change the formID? Otherwise any changes you make will be applied to all objects of the same ID.

Looks like you changed the FormID for the NPC, but you also need to do it the same way for the AI package. If you just edit the package, you're changing the original, and you need a new one. AI packages are usually shared by multiple NPC's, and even when you change one from the AI button on the NPC dialog, you're updating the same package you get to from Character/Packages.

You edited the Deepscorn Hollow package without first changing it's ID. Now, anything that uses that package will act according to the changes.
