Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:47 am

the underfykte made an apearence in both morrowind and oblivion
(morrowinds followed the story of grendel) and it stuck fear into me when i read the journel on top of dive rock
givin the climate we must have the underfrykte back....BUT it must be BIGGER and BADDER and less transparent

Wasn't the mother a reskinned troll? Felt like a lazy easter egg so if they add an Uderfrykte to Skyrim they should do it properly.

Let them come up with a variety of more unique "boss" creatures instead of recycling Solstheim material. Been there twice, killed that twice. I don't ask for a Udyrfrykte, but more uniqueness and awesomeness. So no mass reskinning of existing ones, please.

Yeah pretty sure it was a troll

I really didn't think it was so popular it needed a mother. Is the dad next?

Bethesda trolled us!

We should fight the grandma Udyrfrykte in Skyrim!
And Svenja should make a spectacular comeback!

it follows the story of Grendel, the first monster Beowulf slays in his epic. First he kills grendel, then he kills his mother, and at the end he slays an evil hoarding dragon, and dies himself. So really all they'd have to do in skyrim is give us a companion called "wiglaf" and we'll be good.

I'm not going to vote "yes" because I don't think it's VITAL, but I'm not going to vote "no" either, because I think it would be cool. I think that it would be cool to have more than 1, honestly. Make them a rare, powerful enemy. Maybe your given a passive quest to wipe out the species and you have to kill like all 10 of them or all 50 of them. The point being the number of them is limited.

Hopefully they ditch the dragon idea and this becomes the main quest ^_^

The UdyrFrykte in Bloodmoon was cool, the matron in Oblivion wasn't. To me it felt like it cheapened the entire Thirsk storyline from Bloodmoon. So I do not want to se a daddy.

I'd prefer Skyrim's own mysterious monster dwelling in deep caverns below the ice ^^

Morrowind - Grendal
Oblivion - Grendal's Mother
Skyrim - Dragon

Anyone who knows the story should have seen this one coming.

Well it was a troll that was set as transparent and used a frost shader. It wasn't supposed to look like a troll but occasionally people would see it as a troll. It looks sweet if they shaders and transparency are working correctly.

Well, the Udyrfrykte made an appearance in Morrowind. Its mother was in Oblivion.

And now that we've got dragons, the Beowulf-wannabe cycle is complete and we don't need any more Udyrfryktes.
