Story options?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:31 pm

I know that every game that trys to do these things fail miserably. Fable has red dead has and others as well. But will bethesda play it safe and make you good along the story line like oblivion, while leaving you to your factions to be evil or will every quest you do give you options to be good evil or even neutral?

With a civil war going on in Skyrim, I'm hoping there's a little bit of decision that can be made in the main quest.

Oh yeah! I never thought of that. Im just hoping this game will be for me what oblivion was. I've never went back and replayed a game as much as oblivion and I've never had so much fun with one. Jesus H Christ.

Yes it would be nice. Even though I don't like playing evil characters, one problem in Oblivion, is even if you play an evil character, you are still doing good. I was reluctant to join the Brotherhood (damn I forgot the name now) but I joined them because I found out I could get revenge on the Dark Elf you meet in jail. He was annoying. Once joining them, I was actually doing good not bad or evil stuff, depending on how you look at it. From my point of view, I wasn't evil at all.

So being a good character was sort of lame in Oblivion, because you were made to be good no matter how evil you wanted to be. So I hope in Skyrim, it's not so White, with a little Black. I hope you are Black, White or shades of grey.

Fallout was something like this, depending on how many good deeds, and bad deeds you did, they let you know how good or bad you were.

I agree completely the GI made it seem like it was our story this time.

I really hope the civil war plays into the game. Being one of the only known Dragonborn, you should hold a lot of weight in the world. It would be awesome, when nearing the end of the game, that you could aid one side, and either bring Skyrim independence or keep it part of the empire.

Well said Davor, most of the guilds that I thought would have an evil side to them failed me miserable, such as the wimpy Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. The Mages guild was the only guild that appeared to have some evil characters.

I dont get all the requests for good vs evil. I think a little middleground is nice now and then, the rest should be up to the player.

Oblivion was great, if I wanted to be an evil son of a [censored], i would simply go and do evil stuff like lets say kill a man for looking at me, stealing stuff from the poor, or just very simply dont do quests I belive is a nice favor. If i wanted to be a really great guy i would simply go save the empire.

I dont see why a quest should have options that either made you good or evil.

No black and white please. Rescuing a lady for the sake of rescuing her? No thanks. I want moral/greylike decisions, like a necromancer who tries to make men and mer immortal. To reach that, he must kill innocent bypassers and study their bodies. Would you kill him, let him be or join him?
