Fallout 3 GOTY Question

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:55 pm

Will I have to buy Fallout 3 GOTY (Xbox 360) new in order to get the expansions? Is the expansion disc included with the Game of the Year Edition one-time-use-only?

The reason why I am asking is because I'm thinking about buying the game used from Amazon, and I do not want to make the mistake of buying it used and finding that I cannot get the expansions off of the included disc.

Amazon.com

So does anybody know whether the expansion discs included in the GOTY edition are one-time-use or not?

What platform?

I play on the 360 and the expansion disc is not one time use. I installed it on our previous system, which died...so we got a new one and I installed it easily on the new one. That's sort of the point of the hard disc ;)

Xbox 360

So it's safe to get it used?

In the item's description on Amazon, it says:

"Includes manual, cover art, and case. Full game is included, but bonus downloadable content may have already been redeemed. Cleaning and repair was done as required. Game data from previous use may be present, but can be overwritten or deleted. "

That doesn't make sense. The content is on the disc and installed to the XBox hard drive. The only way that it would be one time use is if you went to GameStop, bought one of those vouchers to download the content separately from XBox Live, and acquired it that way.

The expansions are multi-use. At least on Pc. I have two installs that way I can play two different games with different mods installed without having to tick them off the list.

I like buying from the stores. Not really a fan of online unless its digital distribution and even then its a no no due to bandwidth.

It would svck if the GOTY had redeem codes, I wouldnt get it because that's too much gigs wasted on limited bandwidth.

By bonus downloadable content they probably mean extra content like the Fallout New Vegas pre-order packs.
Though I can't think of anything like that for Fallout 3. But you should be fine; I had Fallout 3 vanilla for Xbox
and installed the DLC from a friend's GOTY version until I could find one myself.
